  1. Stopped at Tesco last week, three boats on the moorings, new timbers on dock, we got the shopping and moved on. I did notice a mooring sign on the ground after I moored up stating it was £100 per day to moor. I don't know if Tesco own the moorings but there are no visible notices to boaters mooring up as to what the rules are for these moorings.
  2. My first visit to the Oxford Canal and I agree it's dire in places our first encounter was the dead dear that had been retrieved from the lock and dumped by the bridge at Dukes Cut Lock. Bridge 231 is dangerous to operate and I suspect CRT don't do public safety risk assessments. The solution to defective lock paddles it to wrap them in hazard tape. Its a nice waterway but a bit neglected in places
  3. The pump out cards are £10 this year, Molesey Lock pump out has been out of action but has now been repaired, The ones out of action a normally posted on. http://riverconditions.environment-agency.gov.uk/ Hope that helps
  4. My understanding is, If you buy a EA on day licence on the Thames at Teddington today at 04:00 (4th July) it will expire at 23:59 on 5th July so you get 2 days boating for your £32. From their website the term "day" is the 24 hours commencing after midnight and finishing at midnight.
  5. Heading up the Thames at Teddington I came across fuel boat "Merchant" Great service with card payments, I have no connection with this company other than a satisfied customer. http://thamesdiesel.com
  6. Not the best picture but is shows the buoys making the exclusion zone with the plod boat in the background. And The Westminster Gas Works (on account of all the hot air they generate) before the exclusion zone buoys.
  7. Thank you for all your replies A bit more research called for I think?
  8. I have an Eberspacher D5w of 1998 vintage on a 45 foot boat that now has a sized burner motor so I am now looking at replacing the unit. There appears to be lots of reviews out there regarding both Eberspacher & Websto products as well as a variation in the cost of the units. My local boatyard suggest replacing it with a Webasto system as he is of the opinion there exhausts are a lot quieter and they are better in a marine application. Before I part with lots of ££££ has anyone got any views comments or suggestions
