Most Listers will run hot. I know a few people who have fitted fans to help engine cooling mine used to overheat too. Till I put a pipe on the air intake sonit sucked cold air in and modified my exhaust system. I ran up the river Trent after making these moddifications with bit of a flow on at 3 quater throttle all the way and it never overheated No need for fans really. My Lister sr 2 smokes black when on load and doesn't clear up. I'm doing the injectors, but from what I have read, there's a start(max fuel) run and stop postion. Where is this on the engine. As I have a stop cord you pull to stop the engine etc is that it. And where the cable goes on for the throttle.
