  9. Ok thanks! Split diode lights up when running engine and cuts out when stopped. Hope this is correct! I may send photos of shunt connection but I think it’s connected ok!
  10. Hi! Thanks for a great reply! I have one alternator. Bit confused about shunt connections. I have the negative connected and do you mean nothing should be connected to the positive side? Looks like I’ll need a boat electrician to check it all out. Anyone in the Rickmansworth/ Watford area?
  11. Ok, I was continuous cruising every couple of weeks which kept batteries topped up but now on mooring. Four hours per day is a bit much with working and 8am / 8pm running the engine. I suppose more solar panels be the answer

  13. Hi! Alternator is ok because it’s showing 13+ volts charging. I’m going to change batteries! I run engine about an every other day.

  15. Hi again! My monitor reads 13.6 volt charging (hooray) and second display reads 0.1 amp! What does that mean please?

  18. What’s the simple way of reading alternator output using a AVO please?
  19. Oops! Sorry I didn’t reply over the weekend! I tend to leave my messaging, Facebook etc alone at weekends and see what else is out there. my lights do go out suggesting alternator is working ok! It is a process of elimination, just how the way engines and electrics work. However, I’m not an electrician! What does 0.1 amp suggest on my nasa monitor please?
  20. Hi! Thanks for all your replies! I’m going to change drive belt. It may be that. in have nasa monitor and Adverc my output isn’t much as I only use it for lights , water pump and light on fridge which I run on gas
