Yes it takes a good 25-30 minutes to get hot. I only use it when it's really cold. Someone told me they use 1 litre of diesel every hour.

Yes I have spray foam insulation and the boat is only a few years old. I have eberspacher as well but I can't afford to keep it on all day. The back of the boat is freezing without the three radiators on. Yes I use Supettherm as well, it's good coal I think.

No on the contrary, I love every bit of living aboard my narrowboat, its been a positive move in every way and thats why I posted my concern. I don't want it to end. I love it....

I don't know how you do it Phil. I wear t shirts and have a 15 tog cover. 3 1/2 bags a week easy with curtain shut..

Their are some very nice boat hirers. Most people look at me with worry when i say hello on the street. Two worlds colliding maybe I've lost touch with reality of suspicion and fear.

What do you think? Sub Contracter's charging CRT big bucks. Do I need to park my Boat in a farmer's field and plant Dafodils.? Being serious I do worry it's all going a bit down hill. :-genuinely.

I found burning the box it came in added more heat to the middle of my boat. :-/

Yer they creep off the edge of my stove with vibration. That's all it did really. Ecofan = 7 bags of coal.

Ramming season. Dayboats with kids hanging off the roof and Ale Cans everywhere. I saw a boat dented last year, all the chaps hanging off the back burst into laughter. Some nice people about also but it's a bit shocking at times.
