  1. Hurrah - tank full (took hour and a half) and pump is now working as I though it should... Presumably it was just working too hard with a nearly empty tank. Thanks all...
  2. I am hopeful the tank was just empty as it was noticeably echoey when I unscrewed the cap... It's filling as I type. I think I will let it overfill, reconnect the pump and open up some taps to see if anything needs flushing out (air, crud etc etc)
  3. Hmm - the water in bathroom was just coming out brown (from cold tap) and flow was spluttery. Then I heard the pump whirring continuously (quieter than normal). Have cut pump off for now but could this be as simple as my water tank has run dry? Hi - sorry is this referring to my system or waterdog?
  4. perfect... there is another outlet not in use from the shower area...which was converted into a bathtub at some point. All makes sense. All good, we are going to potentially revert back to a shower from bath. Hopefully we can reuse the outlet. thank you everyone. Will try to update the thread when the freshwater pump is diagnosed and fixed!
  5. hmmm, ill give it some proper thought and diagnostic this weekend - hard to do when at work all day! We also have a problem with our shower pump...the water is flowing up into the sink before passing out through the usual exit! We have to turn the pump on and off every 10 seconds to stop the sink overflowing and let the water catch up with itself. oh dear....
  6. no problem waterdog - keen to get as much info as possible... thanks boat fan, here is our pump and some other pics if this helps diagnostics. Got chatting to someone last night and they also think this is something to do with the pressure, am going to have a closer look at the weekend and may take a pump to it. I don't think it is anything to worry about, but also want to get used to normal and non normal sounds for future...! Everyday is a learning curve. ...
  7. Hi all ... 2 questions... We have a flo jet "quiet quad" driving our freshwater tank. There is what I think an expansion tank also connected to this as the water leaves the bow to travel to the boat... 1. Can anyone explain to me what this tank does please? (Pics attached) am struggling to understand its purpose. 2. when we are using the shower the flo jet pump cuts in and out every 5 seconds or so - (there are no leaks) - is the cutting in and out normal? Thanks! With pics
  8. thanks Fender151 - wasn't overly worried, just curious. Honestly, I thought I had seen posts previously where users had said they would be happy to speak directly about tips on security rather than posting publicly where the information could get into the wrong hands... thanks all........
  9. Hi All, Would anyone be willing to PM me some information about security on our NB? We are just about to move in and I am curious to know what solutions are out there... We have a semi trad. thanks Zoe
  10. Hi Ray, that's the one... Its $$$$ but think its what we need in order to satisfy the soliftec guidelines. Any thoughts? Z
  11. Hi Has anyone installed one of these themselves? Do you have any tips? Or better yet, some photos? thank you! Z
  12. Hi Pennie Sounds like we are working on the same stuff. Our flue didn't lift out v easy to had to unbolt the whole collar too. We took it all out last weekend and I have spent today smashing out the hearth and surround to build a new one! FIs your flue completely straight? We had a straight flue before, but when we rebuild the surround according to new regs and distances the Flue will definitely need to be bent to allow for enough space between stove and combustibles etc. Have you had this also? ...Seriously considering moving the stove out of the corner to the centre of boat so there will be less stuff around it, and enable us to have a straight flue. No idea how expensive this will be?! Good luck - really happy to share pics/tips between us directly if you like?? I'm terrified!! Zoe
  13. thanks Iain. I think I can make this work on the roof - using various things and also some sealant. In relation to your last point about the joint between the collar and flue being sliding... I have been told this previously too, and it all makes sense, but how far down should I sit the pipe into the collar on the top of the stove? Maybe 5mm above the top of stove? This sounds tricky! Presumably both actions (roping the top and the bottom of the flue) need to be done simultaneously...?
  14. Hi We are installing a straight flue onto our squirrel stove. It sits on the port side, so How do you get over the outside collar sitting at an angle on the roof without getting your flue bent slightly? I have seen some boats with little hardwood wedges but can't understand the logistics of making this watertight / secure etc ! Does anyone have any instructions/ tips / photos of their installation? Help! Z
  15. Thank you very much everyone!
