Hi Mike Is your 'uxter plate' above the water level, if so she may need some more ballast. All this will not stop her 'digging an hole' that is what boats do but it may reduce it.

Mike How does your boat 'sit' when moored? This is not a criticism but either the boat is not ballasted properly or you are trying to travel to fast for the water (depth) you are on.

The depth of water will also exacerbate the problem, if it is shallow, just ease off on the 'throttle' an she will level out and travel faster.

May do it good, get rid of all the rubbish , do not forget to check your oil levels before entering and after leaving the river. Also water level.

I realise that you have a changeover valve but is there a possibility that the solar is trying to warm the engine? I also believe that the engine temperature (when running) would be about 80° C does the solar get that hot?

Geoff As you probably know that a microwave that is 'rated' as 850watt actually uses about 1700watt, very close to your maximum if the rating you give for your inverter is 'continuous'. Microwaves are also known to be temperamental if they are not given a 'pure sine-wave' which I doubt the Sterling gives unless it says so on the box.

I may be wrong here and am willing to be put right. Any boat that is built to RCD certificate and has the relevant paperwork can be sold legally. For example if a shell with RCD annexeIII was sold then more work was carried out (but not completion of boat) to RCD and certified with correct paperwork, then it can be sold within the five years. I thought that the re-sale limitation only applied to fitouts that were not RCD compliant with the relevant paperwork.
