  1. This may cover it. Acts that are allowed Fair dealing is a term used to describe acts which are permitted to a certain degree without infringing the work, these acts are: Private and research study purposes. Performance, copies or lending for educational purposes. Criticism and news reporting. Incidental inclusion. Copies and lending by librarians. Format shifting or back up of a work you own for personal use. Caricature, parody or pastiche. Acts for the purposes of royal commissions, statutory enquiries, judicial proceedings and parliamentary purposes. Recording of broadcasts for the purposes of listening to or viewing at a more convenient time, this is known as time shifting. Producing a back up copy for personal use of a computer program.
  2. Our solution a cover that fits over the two outer doors made with the same material as a cratch cover. difficult to describe but possibly like two open envelopes, fitted over the doors, with a window in between, obviously some extra pieces required to stop rain entering from the top.
  3. I think also that the rating etc. is under quoted so that the guarantee of 80% output after 20 years (or whatever it is) can be given.
  4. Good of you to pop in and thanks for the information. All credit (groan) to you for paying as you go. I know the feeling and for exactly the same reason.
  5. Bruce Do you know something that no one else knows, Kinver Canopies as far as most of us know is a company set up by ex employees of Wilson and is not connected in anyway whatsoever.
  6. Boaters (OP) location Bath, recognised tow path in Bath. Towpaths down that way are luxurious compared to many others around the country.
  7. Yes Dave my mistake, just carried on where Athy left off, could not think of the correct term Athy as for scorching I have no idea, no experience or met anyone with them fitted.
  8. Welcome to the forum, strange first post. This is not the first time for this company or should I say its previous guises. No I think that was Wilson's this is their new company Wilson's Covers.
  9. Yes but not all prisms are of the ox eye design, latest models are letterbox in shape. Post #10 in this link shows one http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=8515
  10. Some where in your browser settings there may be one to select 'cookies to keep' As per Martin my browser (Firefox) is set to clear cookies at end of session.
  11. Listen: to hear something with thoughtful attention Hear: to listen to with attention it’ll help us prioritise our work: but not necessarily where you think it should be
  12. Strange that, it seems to be the same problem all the ones I know had, perhaps it is a design fault.
  13. Personally I would not have one, everyone I know that has one says it leaks. Of course there will be exceptions as there always are. Prism as per mrsmelly or a 'houdini' style roof light
  14. You bring it up to standard and get it re-tested. Remember the BSS is only valid for the day it is issued. ie. the boat complies today but may not tomorrow. A bit like the MOT for cars.
  15. No problem but you did miss my deliberate mistake I did not mention that the figures given were for a battery temperature of 25°C
  16. As per Catweasel, plus does all the equipment on-board comply with the required standards, will it kill you.
  17. Bubble tester would be no good on my boat. It,s all electric.
  18. Depends on the amount of damage, this piece of string should cover it. This bodes well. Take it for a run and if you keep going in circles you have a problem. Remember you will be highly sensitive to the steering and how the boat behaves because you think you may have a problem, just think of the vagaries of the canal and a boat travelling thereon.
  19. I think your biggest problem will not be what engine but more to do with the lack of use of said engine. The other problem before you get to that is, the boat you eventually love will have an engine (hopefully) and you will be stuck with whatever it has fitted. Nice boat, rubbish engine Rubbish boat, nice engine Nice boat, nice engine. If you are lucky. Has anyone mentioned, get it fully surveyed.
  20. Loafer you are not wrong but if you read the bit you quoted, it is only mentioning the advised settings, those that should be used. You are quite at liberty to disregard the advice of the manufacturer but of course 'you' are doing that with experience and knowledge. I hope.
  21. I was about to type almost exactly the same, probably not so eloquently. Just to add, keep the stick vertical do not tip until wiping it on the paper.
  22. but that depends on the hight of the baked bean can, how near the gunwale the bottom edge of the doors are and the slope of the gunwale. Again will be different on all boats out there.
