  1. I used his services just after the winter closure was lifted. I met him about 2 down and he was already on the Cider. He was friendly and polite. Explained his services and the charge. As I was single handed i agreed. Made very good time down. I have his number and will be using his services should i be going up alone again.
  2. How long did you have it for? When we put a stove in our boat everyone was raving about the Morso. All I ever see on forms and social media is pictures of cracks and people talking about replacing them due to this. And they cost so much.
  3. We use nothing. Used to use odorless but forgot to put it in once and did not notice the difference.
  4. I put new Trojan 12 v batteries in and the data sheet asks for 14.82 v on Bulk Charge. My Leece Nevel alternator only used the charge qt 14,2v. I have now installed the sterling Universal Advanced Digital Alternator Regulator Pro Reg DW (waterproof) PDARW. I now get a bulk charge voltage of 14.79. I do check the batteries water levels regularly but dont seem to top up much. I would say charging times have reduced slightly on the bulk side but the Sterling Regulator calculates this time upon the start of each charge then goes into float mode so effectively lets the inbuilt regulator take over for the last bit.
  5. PROBLEM SOLVED There was a problem with the batch of display panels (Part No: REC020005010) with the serial number starting with :HQ1618 Victron had switched the LED lights around on this batch New panel in and working as it should. Thank you.
  6. I have tried the other RJ45 socket and it does the same thing. I will try the supplier I purchased it from but Im not very confident, I will also try Onboard Energy. Anyone have any contact details for Victron Technical in the UK Thank you
  7. If I leave the switch in the on position the remote panel lights up and I am able to adjust the current limit to a maximum of 16. But if I turn the switch on the remote panel to charge mode the inverter mode lights come on . Inverter On will illuminate as well as the Overload lamp. On the actual inverter the Mains ON and Bulk Lamp will illuminate. When the inverter switches to absorption charge the light comes up on the inverter but the Low Battery light is illuminated on the remote panel. I will check this as I assumed they were both the same. Thank you
  8. Hi I have a Victron Energy Phoenix Multi Plus 12-300-120 Inverter Unit. I have purchased the Digital Multi Control Remote panel (REC 020005010) to go with this unit. According to all the research I have done this should just be plug and play as I only have 1 inverter and 1 source. Well I plugged it in and Nothing. It does light up but it does not do what it is supposed to. It only lights up when the switch on the unit is on and then it turns on the inverter when I am asking for charging mode. I have disconnected the unit and my inverter is functioning normally so no damage has been done. Wondering if there are any Victron experts on here or someone who has installed one of these previously. Thank you Alan
  9. Leo What am I looking for. There are a couple of spots on each side of the boat and around the pump out points.
  10. Thank you So I only prime the areas I take back to bare metal?
  11. Hi I have been researching this topic recently using google and this site. Im yet to find a step by step guide but I have come up with the following. Please correct me if I have it wrong. See the attached pictures to see what Im dealing with. Im planning on doing the gunwale only for now. Where rust has broken through the existing paint I will scrape and sand down to bare metal using a 80 grit paper. I will scrape off all the existing non-slip tape and all loose paint. The using a random orbital sander Im sanding the entire area till its smooth but not necessary all back to bare steel. Then Im using white spirit to clean the surface to be painted. Then I use a Primer to cover the entire surface that was prepared. ( Recommendations on what to use please ) I then sand this using sander with 300-400grit paper. Clean with white spirit and paint with undercoat ( Recommendations of what to use please ) 2 coats sanding with 300-400 grit between coats. Then using a top coat . 2 coats sanding again between coats. I am a complete novice to this so any tips will be helpful Thank you
  12. Another vote for Collidge & Partners. Going on for my second year and I actually got a slight decrease in my premium. Very helpful when I was first looking and talked me through all my options. We CC .
  13. Hi All I bought my boat ( First ) last April and when doing the survey we were offered a “Good” deal on the crane price if we did the blacking at the same time. As she was due and me not knowing all that much I agreed to this service. My surveyor would carry out the survey and upon a positive result i would instruct the boat yard to complete the works. I was onsite for the survey and instructed the works at about 15:00 on the Friday afternoon. At this point the boat had not been cleaned and not works had started. I emailed on the Following Monday to ask when the works would be started and asking if I could come and see the boat before it went back into the water. At 16:00 I had the following reply “I am afraid that we took advantage of the good weather and completed the blacking and replacing the anode, and the boat is back in the water.” My first impression then was WOW that was fast but it had been warm over the weekend so thought nothing more of it. Come almost a year later the hull is ls starting to look bad with rust appearing along the water line. Surely this should have lasted longer? I enquired towards the end of last year as to what blacking they used and was informed International Intertuf 16 - details here Upon reading the details in the data sheet it states the following. I am using the 25DegC bracket as it was a warm weekend. Drying Information 25°C Touch Dry [iSO 9117/3:2010] 8 hrs Hard Dry [iSO 9117-1:2009] 2 days Overcoated By 25°C Min 8Hrs Max ext 1. Am I correct in assuming that you have to leave 8 hours between coats and 2 days before putting the boat back in the water. 2. My boat was out on the hard for just over 3 full days. Could the boat have been correctly blacked during this time. Hull Cleaned, Blacked and new anodes fitted ( Welded ) 3. Generally does anyone have any comeback/warranty on this to the boat yard? Can I request engineer job sheets to see when what works were carried out. and possible get some money back? I feel the job was rushed and the boat put back in the water too soon and therefore I am experiencing the problems I am. During the short freezing of the canal here in MK I did not do any ice breaking and there was also limited movement from other boats during this time Thank you for reading my essay.
  14. What concerns me is the flashing of the flame right at the back. Thank you for the manual. I now have an idea where to start.
  15. Thanks for the responses. I'm going to source a part and give it a go. ill report back....... Edit: Spelling
  16. Andy is it a DIY job or is it best to get a gas engineer. I can do most things but I have always stayed away from gas. Would that also be the reason for the uneven burning?
  17. Hi When using the search function in Canalworld it always defaults to google search. Ive had a look through my settings but found nothing to make "Forums" the default. Is this possible? Thank you
  18. Hi This stove was fitted 2013. Recently the grill will not stay alight and will only do so after about 3-5 mins of holding in the gas button with the flame going. Even then it does still stop with a clicking noise. You dont always hear a click especially withinn the first 3 mins. I have noticed that the flame does not burn evenly across the full burner. ( See video Below) Could this be a cleaning issue? If so can I dismantle this myself and clean or is this best left to the professionals. If this is not a DIY job, we are currently in the Milton Keynes Area, any suggestions for an engineer https://youtu.be/ILr8NNuFS1g Thank you
  19. We spent 14 days there towards the end of last summer. No one approached us but we did see the mooring ranger on his bicycle log us every evening. We found it a great place to moor up with all the facilities and good parking. We used is as a base to go into Oxford and the surround.
  20. Hi Saw these on a boat over the weekend. Brilliant Idea except I cant find them in the UK. Does any one know where I can purchase these. Thank you

  22. I'm no expert but the only difference in those 2 pics is the fans
