  1. The OP did ask if it will be a problem when selling boat on in 5 years time. More a question about future a sale.
  2. This was a lovely friendly thread. Then the usual bandit arrived and it has become the "I know better than you" clap trap, that has ruined the forum for so many.
  3. Indeed, we where there for 10 years and gave up for same reason. looking at mooring site, it seems to be showing boat lengths that haven't been around for many years. Still web shows 10 moored boats and we know Crt wouldn't tell a lie. Would they ?
  4. Buckby top lock, officially 12 mooring spaces. site shows 2 available spots. There are only 6 boats moored here and has been at this level since Feb22. Look at Waterside mooring site and it shows 10 occupied moorings. While I moored there it was never full but almost always showed , no vacancies.
  5. Looking at picture of the mounting, could it not be easier to buy or fabricate longer brackets to allow fitting to centre of engine bearers ?
  6. Thought these were reasonable ebay 303516823119. Get 3 @ £15.72 each, free delivery.
  7. It looks as if somebody has shortened the cabin at the back. seems a strange thing to do.
  8. Morning, I have been looking at the work of Robert Naghi, I haven't got around to booking him yet but do expect to quite soon. Have a look at his site.
  9. Perhaps, if the boat yards that put these boats on the water were to decline the job. It would lead to less wide boats being on what some see as the wrong canal. Very little point in helping them to get afloat and then moaning about them. pot and kettle comes to mind.
  10. I think it should be noted that 2 of the 8 boats on sale, have been reduced in price. One by a hefty £10,000.
  11. Ah, but not before 12th Dec. Buckby closure longer than expected.
  12. Now opening delayed till 11th Dec, it seems,
  13. Is this after allowing for 5% IWA member discount at Midland, only have to ask normally.
  14. Hello, I bought a 9" deep mattress from this company 6 years ago. It was made to my measurements and fitted perfectly. Sorry to say, that although it is used only 5 months per year and gets turned frequently, it is no longer very comfortable and will be replaced soon. It hasn't really been comfy for last couple of years, hope this is useful. Garry.
  15. Interesting, I had quite a lot of work carried out by this yard. Always found them to be helpful, friendly and very good at their job. I would and have recommended them to other, now satisfied customers. Perhaps you caught them on a very bad day.
  16. Used this earlier this year, didn't get the same coverage as I am used to from Intertuf. The blacking did flow well and I felt that it will do its job well. With Intertuf 3 coats went on, Ballastic black gave 2 full coats and 1 more along the waterline. This on a 60ft boat. It was also much cheaper almost £50 saving.
  17. Remember to fully charge batteries before you start. This job could well leave you unable to run engine for 3 days. Can't remember if a generator is available.
  18. As above really. This could be done for less than £100. Going with your other plan I would suggest the cost will be around £700 ish. Cost everything carefully and don't assume/guess low prices without checking.
  19. Hello, would suggest that you use a flexible pipe in the system to cut down on vibration being transferred to the hull. Don't underestimate how difficult it can be to free up the old screwed joints when working in limited space.
  20. No connection, just been happy with past work and know several others that feel the same.
  21. Hello again, glad they were able to help you. Didn't want to overstate their good service but thought they would be able to sort something out. Shows the value of a good small boat yard. Cheers.
  22. Yes, North Kilworth boat yard. A little before the tunnel. Opposite the new marina.
