  1. emmm! scary! I don't envisage large data use so I guess it's Excel time. Thanks for the reply
  2. I have a vague recollection from back about 1959/1960 when as an apprentice boat-builder doing some of this canvas/paint stuff. One thing I remember is the boat-yard saving all the part used tins of paint, this was mixed together, old thick paint was considered "best" and this used in the job a really remember, it was trowelled onto the deck and then the canvas was laid on top, pulled taut and then we had to "squeegee" it into the paint, removing excess paint, nightmare job. Finishing was applied after this had dried. Only did this early in the apprenticeship as it was superseded by a new system, this was a white nylon fabric used with a white resin. This was much longer lasting and was even used on hull exterior of quite large plywood boats. Danged if I can remember what it was called, good stuff tho. Course, then there was 'Trakmark' ™
  3. This mobile comms/data stuff just whoooshes right over my head, but, in a while I think I shall have the need of an Ipad or other tablet, so could I ask of the knowledgeable folk herein what they think of the data SIMs deal offered by my ISP A&A. I believe the operate on the 3 net. http://aaisp.net.uk/telecoms-mobile-data.html thankee kindly.
  4. is it me or does that map make gno sense? Take the blue, 1 to 2.5 boats, wot per metre? mile? yard? AU? Light Year? leap year? wot?
  5. One foot = 2.1772 Linguine = 0.0331 Double-decker bus. http://www.theregister.co.uk/Design/page/reg-standards-converter.html
  6. I quite fancy that stuff in my drum, costed one not large room, using their software =£800+ Promptly fergot about it
  7. I think we have the best of both worlds, the option of using either, like 1 fathom is hundredth of a cable which is a tenth(ish) of a nautical mile which is a minute a Latitude which is a 60th of a degree of Latitude which is a 90th of the distance from the Pole to the equator (ish) (on average) (sort of). One meter was 1/10,000,000th of the distance between the pole and the equator (ish) (on average) (sort of). Then we have chains, perches, furlongs, cubits, angstroms, astronomical units... all good fun

  11. Nope, you're expecting warm light air to displace cold heavy, baint goin' to 'appen Edit Cold room and a fan heater, where the best place for the heater, up high or on the floor, same thing
  12. Just a thought, wood it not be better to do this stuff the other way round? Install the fan in the cold part, i.e. right aft and low down, have the system push cold/dense air forward to exit close to the heat source. Idda thought the fan would work better in the dense air and aft is, usually, where the power source is situated.
  13. ain't got time to read above to see if this is mentioned, plenty of guff here http://www.tagweb.co.uk/french-waterways/
