  6. FWIW I have an LED Lenser P14. It has two brightness settings and has a focus feature which allows you have a wide field of spread or a very narrow beam, great torch really well built in metal and takes 4 AA batteries. Not cheap about £50 but its given me 8 yrs of hard use without trouble. ps I use rechargeables 2700 mAand they last several weeks before they need recharging.
  7. Get over here in May and go visit the Crick Boat Show and see as many boats as you can then figure what you want to have out of that lot.
  8. I have put a garden solar LED in a flower pot on the top of the cratch. It switches on automatically on entering the tunnel and gìves me a percect alignment point to know where the bows are. Has made tunnels so much easier
  9. Just done gas street basin in birmingham to kings norton junction and onto warstock .....no sightings.

  16. When you mention "cratch cover" do mean pram cover as pictures are back of the boat. ? If yes then we have a pram cover but rain still gets on the rear deck by running down the sides of it and onto the deck. Condensation is a possiblity but needs colder conditions and higher humidity than of late I would suggest. We get it in our engine bay but only during winter.
  17. I had similar issues quickly fixed by cleaning out by roding the pipes that drain rain water away from thr rear deck of the boat.
  18. All marina trolley with the entire weeks shopping from supermarket plus a laptop bag with all you would expect that to contain plus wifes handbag....plus all you would expect in that too......all retrieved. Much to amasement of a pal who is only person to have caught tuna in the marina. Tinned with a magnet ...... A vernier gauge in its box. 3 screw drivers A pair of glassesi am sure theres more.....I'll be back
  19. Agreed....I took the boat out last month and can report that 1 year on and its all fine and dandy. What I also found encouraging is that what little weed growth there was came off really easily. This boat is my home so looking after it is very important to me. I will be using Keelblack when I next black the boat.
  20. How have you reached those conclusions? In my view. 1. I didnt find it expensive 2. Im only aware of keelblack being sold by the company keelblack Ive used it, put it on last year. It is a great product. Total cost just £50 and I saved 2 days drydock costs as the whole process took just 2.5 days from going into drydock to leaving it. I used 9 litres to do 2 full coats on a 70 foot boat. Previous thread discussed it quite well here. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=85020&hl=
  21. WD40 is a good cutting fluid when using a hole saw. As others suggest keep the speed down and dont put pressure on it when starting the drill revolving.
  22. Nice summer sight earlier today. Spitfire approached our marina, wigrams turn at napton junction, flew a complete 360 turn around us then looped and rolled out the top a continued on its way towards oxford. Marvellous sight and sound. Anyone else spotted it ?
  23. Take a look at this thread. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=85020&hl=
  24. Last month I had the boat in dry dock to do some other work so gave it a wash off to inspect it. Glad to say it all looked superb. Very little weed and that that was there came off very easy. Best bit was that it all looked very nice indeed no visible rust at all and notably none around the water line and apart from sruff damage to strakes looked as good as the day i painted it. I will be using again. Edit: been on 11 months now originally done June 2015.
