  1. I have been offered a job in Bristol (good news) but my wife and home are in London (bad news). The plan is for me to move to Bristol and commute back to London on the weekends. This leaves me with the unenviable task of finding somewhere relatively inexpensive, yet relatively central, to live. I love narrowboats and have always wanted to try living on one. What do you reckon my chances are of finding a narrowboat to live on with a decent mooring and that I can rent. I would consider buying, but the job is likely for only 1 year and then I'd be moving back to London. Does anyone know a good place to look? There dosn't seem to be much online which is worrying. I'd MUCH rather live on a narrowboat than going back to sharing a house with a stranger! Thanks!
  2. Me and a group of friends are taking our 2nd annual boat trip (last year was up near Oxford). This year we are setting off from Bradford on Avon and will be leaving Friday and returning Monday morning in late October. Between us we have many years of boating experience and so we are not afraid of locks or difficult navigation. The question we are facing is which way to go and how far can we get (and back again) in that time? The ideal route would be very quiet and with great rural surroundings. We aren't keen on going into towns in the evenings and generally cook on board and bring our own craft ales. Can anybody give me an idea as to what lies to the east and west of Bradford and which direction might be better for a quiet cruise? Thanks in advance!
