  1. There is a full length engine tray as part of a soundproof box around the engine and gearbox. the bilge pump is the other side of a barrier so essentially only has to cope with water from the stern gland. However there often seems to be some oil contamination possibly from the stern gland grease and possibly from engineers working on the engine. That is why I specifically asked about bilge water separators. We have had suggestions of water lubricated stern glands so that there is no more stern grease. Does any one know about these?
  2. Thanks. The OSP device seems more reasonable than the Vetus.
  3. When I pump out the water accumulation in the engine bilge there is often a trace of an oil film possibly from engineers boots or stern gland grease etc. As I would like to be responsible to the environment is there any oil separator apart from the expensive Vetus one to fit in the line from the bilge pump to the discharge on our narrow boat? Thanks.
  4. Hello, We have just purchased a new Shoreline fridge model number RR102W. We reversed the main door to fit the boat layout. With the refrigerator in use it became evident that the icebox door would not open with the main door reversed unless the main door was opened more fully than is possible on the boat. It is clear that the icebox door can be mounted to open either way but not clear how this should be achieved. Has any one any idea how to accomplish this? I have emailed Shoreline but had no reply. In the meantime we have to remove the top door shelf if we want to open the icebox. TIA, Martin
  5. Hello John, We've had the non serial output device since 2009 and had no problems until early this year. Suddenly it started reading the voltage as about 6 times its correct value (around 70 to 85 volts instead of 12 to 14). After contact with the manufacturers in holand they sent me a replacement display and pcb for the shunt. All works ok again now. The manufacturers were very helpful (in English) before they finally sent new replacement as above free of all charges. I suggest you discuss your problems with them by email. Martin
