  1. Try this dog behaviourist locator for UK members of the IAABC. https://iaabc.org/consultants They only use positive reward based techniques.
  2. Why not ask @Rob@BSSOffice?
  3. Looks like you have lost weight Biz, there is hardly anything of you now! ?
  4. Great Hayward Boat Sales have a sales office at Wigrams Turn Marina, right on the junction at Napton. https://www.greathaywoodboatsales.co.uk
  5. I think we are of a similar age and I find it happening to me more often. IIRC they are called "senior moments" ?
  6. Spillchucker has mangled what I wrote. Problem is I can't work out what I originally meant to write ?
  7. Thanks, I know Clive (he used to be half of Kingsground who fitted out my boat and I got him to do some work when I first bought it) and is Gas safe registered. He is excellent but charges accordingly.
  8. Well on my piddly 60 footer George will fit under the rear deck boards, next to the engine, along with my tools, spare oil etc. However he is just as useful at home, so often lives in the airing cupboard tire rather than the boat. ?
  9. I have friends who are moored in Enslow Marina on the Oxford Canal, who require someone who is qualified to repair the oven in their gas cooker. Does anyone know of a reliable tradesman in that area?
  10. The Numatic George is even better than Henry, coz he can suck up water from the bilges and clean carpets as well. ? Main problem is finding room for him and his attachments on a boat.
  11. Saw this beauty at Enslow Wharf when visiting friends today. It has redefined my view of fugly.
  12. Welcome Ross. Stick.around here for a while and you will eventually know everything there is to know about boats, their electrical systems and especially their toilet systems. ?

  15. First check to see if your charger has a battery temperature sensor connected (A very thin wire going from the charger to somewhere in the battery box). If it has it is probably doing its job and increasing the charge voltage to compensate for the lower winter battery temperatures. If it does not have a battery temperature sensor, then check for loose connections. If none found then report back here.

    No, that is irnbruprofen. ?
  17. I guess the front of the roof is close enough to put a cantilevered arm on so that you could hoist gas bottles safely in and out of the locker.
  18. No, spillchuckers ?
  19. Well, that will scupper CRT's plans to charge sidebeams more for their licences ?
  20. Yes it applies to all electrical devices in a bathroom unless they are rated at IPx7 in zone 0 or IPx4 in the rest of the bathroom. This link explains it better. https://www.downlights.co.uk/faq-bathroom-zones.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA68bhBRCKARIsABYUGicOu8JomX-EpjHDTDfzN2sm0LD6hXZ7SOJZJno6MucNCSb9_3jDsHUaArgVEALw_wcB The reason why you often see some electrical devices less thsn 600mm away from a bath, sunk or shower is because the IET wiring regs are not retrospective. However you are expected to bring them up to the requirements of the latest issue when doing work on older circuits. Also, except in Scotland, complience is not mandatory, but if you fail to follow them without good documented reason and kill someone they will be used against you as evidence of your incompetence.
  21. Personally would ditch BG, they are useless. I ditched them many years ago, when their "engineer" disagreed about my control valve leaking, despite me showing him the bubbles coming through a washing up liquid! Then they tried to charge me when I had a mantenance contract. I left telling them if they couldn't get the billing right, then how could they be trusted with something dangerous like gas ? As jddevel says, find a trustworthy local guy, worth their weight in gold. I would fit a Magnaclean filter. https://www.screwfix.com/p/adey-cp1-03-00022-01-2-magnetic-filtration-22mm/49961?tc=WT7&ds_kid=92700038507523690&gclsrc=aw.ds&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1249404&gclid=Cj0KCQiApbzhBRDKARIsAIvZue_O6SKJkBAt5db8pjuO1kCabiJr0hMXAex89U6ZiCivJkUgasZYb_oaArNtEALw_wcB Easy to install and acts as a dosing point for the future. I fitted on when the new boiler was fitted, and cleaned it every 3 months until the central heating system was clean. Now I clean it annually.

  23. One solution to utilising the space in the bathroom for a washing machine, is to build an enclosed cupboard into the bathroom to house the washing machine, but have the door to the cupboard in the corridor or adjacent room. Obviously the plug mustn't be within 3 metres of the bathroom, unless the washing machine is fed of a fuased spur, in which case it must be 600mm from a zone 1 area.
  24. My experience to. I suspect that with any broker it depends on who you are dealing with and whether or not they are having a bad day.
