  2. Who else would CRT send licence reminders to?
  3. I haven't had an email, yet.

  5. Have you tried semaphore to communicate with them? ?
  6. You don't have much faith in your fellow boaters do you? As I haven't received any emails about the data breach from CRT, can someone who has, confirm whether my name, address and boat name were leaked? ?

  8. I suppose one advantage Rusty has over the rest of us is that he can do all of the heshewee testing on his/her own. ?
  9. Surely everything gets disconnected when the battery goes flat. A frequent suspect in these cases is the interior light and it's switches. Turn the interior light completely off (or remove the bulb) and see if the battery still goes flat.
  10. Or the cellophane of a Lucozade bottle ? (do they still do Lucozade in bottles with yellow cellophane wrapper?).
  11. Who do you think you are, Mystic Matt? ?
  12. Yes, in hindsight the decision to cremate George Best was the wrong one! ?
  13. Mine have two pieces of perspex, probably derived from a fluorescent light diffuser, mounted underneath them, held in place by simply by adding adding central wooden support to the wooden hatch surround. Catches the drips in winter and dead flies in summer.
  14. Also no need for LED headlamps, unless you plan to leg through tunnels or cruise at night whilst being towed by a horse ? The alternator will feed the power hungry incandescent lights when the engine is running. Damn, I have cross posted with Mike55
  15. What's this "mil" thing? I thought you only worked in imperial? ?
  16. Ah, that explains why Mrsmelly'said boat has been renamed "Blue Rinse" ?
  17. CRT do signwriting now? Wow, no wonder the maintenance backlog is growing ?
  18. Well CRT's work on Glascote top lock and last night's rain have returned the Alvecote pound to near normal levels, and for the first time since mid July DQ is rubbing on the tyres at her mooring, rather than having her ar*e end sticking out the into the cut. 19. The ducks and swans near me suffer from cynophobia, because if they come close to my garden Zeus chases them away. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cynophobia
  20. Your wish is my command ? Sorry it took awhile but I had to download some photo compression software to my phone before I could attach them. Didn't use to have to compress them before uploading onto CWDF. Oh and the last photo was a Christmas present to Zeus from a neighbour, it is categorically not the postman, despite the rumours ?
  21. Unusual To meet two miners, both with a lisp ?
  22. Thanks Luggsy. He is my 3rd rescue dog and 5th dog overall (and 10 times as much trouble as the rest were put together). Before I retired I was a project manager for the majority of my career and I often say he is my most difficult project to date. Certainly over budget compared to the other dogs and after 3 years there is still no end in sight. Strangely he is the dog that has given me the most satisfaction training him though.
  23. Paper licences serve a very useful purpose. They keep the nosy busy bodies who haven't the savvy to check the boats registration number against the CRT website, occupied. If they weren't busy doing this who knows how much trouble they would cause. ?
  24. Ah, thank you. He generates a lot of noise ? He does generate happiness and satisfaction. He is a rescue dog, who had to be rehomed because his incessant barking resulted in a noise abatement notice being placed on his previous owners. When we got him about 3 years ago at 14 months old, he had not had any training, needed two people to walk him and tried to kill any other dog he saw as well as barking incessantly. Now he walks nicely to heel, is mainly quiet, has reached the highest level of obedience training at his local dog training school and can pass 75% of dogs on the towpath without reacting to them. Still a work in progress, but infinitely better than when we got him. He will be making his first public appearance at Alvecote Historic Boat Gathering on Saturday, where hopefully he will behave with any other dogs that may be there. ?
