  2. hi, I had the same problem when having our boat built, tug deck on a R.W.davis boat,, easy, just use smaller bottles, X 4 6kg bottles, so a smaller locker above water level... Oh , and the gas bottle people don't like there bottles in water, check them out.....
  3. sorry got no pic's, but our boat has a vey big tug deck, all boats are differant on this one, and what suits one will not work on others.....some have mattress on the floor, and make a very big bed,, but no under storage,,some decks not long,,,,,short, so bed in boat all day,,,ours completly goes under and if needs be we can still get in ok with good headroom with out pulling it out, but don't,, we pull it out a bit......depends on the fittings of the boat to,,,,,,,,just needs to be planned as per your boat.....
  4. hi, I have a R.W.Davis boat, 70',,under front deck bed,,, 4'-6" matress from argos, I made the frame myself to fit the shape of the front, pull it out every night, about 4 feet and sleep facing the front,,,loads of storage under bed to, works great and a proper sized bed...have made a few bed frames up to now for boats...

    we got a R.W.Davis boat 70' and we pump measured it at 423 gallons. and it still 12inches from the top........

  7. I changed the name of my first boat back in 1984, told to go inside the boat, shut the doors and sit down and talk to the boat and explain the reason for the change. We had no problems or miss haps with the boat, so must work. Don't blame me if the men in white coats come for you after the talking........

  9. hi there, terry off @ 'William James' (r.w.davis boat) I'm on Sterling the lot, 12 and 240 volts chages, and monitors/3KV invertoer, stick to sterling, ring charles if you need info,, he's good , keep it simple...terry.

  15. Yes it's good to support canal traders, we live on the side of the cut and have coal delivered by the Jacksons, 'John & Jenny' boat 'Roach', wouldn't have it any other way, should be round here in January for a top up... We must support these people. Terry

Don't have a boat built round it,,build the boat and have the engine go in through the roof,, the proper way to do it, run away from any builder that say differant,, if you need to set the engine up and in the proper size engine room, prop size, etc/etc..THEN Phil Trotter R.W.Davis He's just doing a boat and the guy has his own Kelvin and phil is putting it in for him,,like you built the boat to fit the engine.   19. Just removed 12 windows from a 70' boat,,all double glazzed and crap from day one,, some fill with water, much better with the normal single glazed,, perhaps thats why you not see many about,,don't need them on narrow boats,,,
  20. Only one boat that, that engine can go into and that is a 70' Northwich Trader, R.W.Davis, Saul Junction, Phil Trotter is putting Kelvins in all the time, and they look great in the engine room. Best engine needs the best boat.

Hi there, Welcome to the boating world, you know what they say when you got a boat,,like having a hole in the water where you through money into, but welcome,,nice boat you having,, gardner 2L2,great enige that only got a 3LW, and even if the boat has been extended it should be ok,, extended boats are much stonger due to the extra stifferners put in. If you down my way, Worcester B,ham canal,, pop in for a cuppa,,NB William/James. Terry
