Yes, it is 15%.
Our boat club are agents, and give members a tenner of it back if you licence through them.
The interesting wrinkle is that with the new online system you no longer get a prefilled renewal form sent to you.
You now have to manually fill out a full application, which seems unlikely to encourage members to use agents. There does not appear to be an option to print your details from the online system, and I can not see CRT wanting to develop one at a cost of 15% or all renewals done this way.

Marvellously expensive, lethal stuff. I had it on a wide beam Tupperware years ago.
When it came out of the water there was next to no weed and what there was just wiped off.
It does need doing regularly though, on average every fortnight and costs about £1k a thimbleful.
The best bit is you can get terminal dandruff just from reading the label on the tin. As a consequence, it is advisable to let your Mother in law do the actual painting.
I might have got a bit excited when writing the above and an odd exaggeration may have slipped through.
I can see that.
It is never advisable to involve the mother-in-law in anything.
Otherwise, spot on.
Where did you get such cheap antifoul from?
-
Arrowfield Road (assuming that's where you mean) to Morrison's 1.2 miles
But that's a 20 minute walk.
Don't tell me you want them to get some exercise as well as cheap, healthy food!
That's fascist, wanting them healthy ...

Antifouling paint is very different stuff to blacking.
Copper arsenic salts usually, and designed to come off rather than stay on.
Horrible stuff, and wearing proper PPE is a good idea, but many DIY-ers just squint and hold their breath.
Blacking is basically roof paint

I can never remember which is which out of Le Creuset and Le Creusot. One is a brand of cookware, the other a town with a TGV station near Chalons-sur-Saone. Gosh, I must rush away to Google to find out.
Could you not just ask on the forum?
Richard would probably know ...

Great for those who want to do their shopping before 10.30 in the morning. But not an ideal solution.
Ah, so an opportunity exists to provide a service to the rest of the people of Gorton, by supplying their needs for fresh food delivered to their door.
Take orders for food, get it at wholesale prices between 5:30 and 10:30, deliver it later.
The person providing this service probably would not need to charge McDonald's prices for one meal either, so everyone would benefit.
-
If only the largest fresh food wholesale market in the North West was somewhere nearby.
And open to the public.
That would help loads of people in Gorton and the surrounding areas, even if all the lorries were annoying at times.

That was a stock photo of cash found on the internet, silly!
(Don't tell EEL though, lol)
Sounds like a fair swap for a picture of a tap.

I'm deeply bothered that you can't spell "Regent's Canal" given you claim to be a teacher.
Could be a chemistry teacher, or might just have looked at the liquid in the canal ...

Dare I ask how cheeky your offer was?
I was quite surprised how easily we were able to slice 5k+ from the asking price ☺
I'm very keen to know how much you old hats value our new prospective narrow boat, but it can wait for now.
The cynical rule of thumb is start below 50% and be prepared to wait.
If you see a boat you actually like, bid 2/3rds.
We got our latest one at 3/4s of asking, but it was priced to sell in the first place, and half had already been declined.
I think the old saying is you pays your money and you takes your chances.
We rejected our boat on the first walkthrough, then bought it two days later.
We still haven't seen one we would prefer

I can't take this level of agreement on here!
Mike Carter is an excellent surveyor, but others are available.
Try either Jonathan Jackson or Paul Rutherford.
I have used both in the past, and am happy to recommend either, but am a great fan of dissensus rather than consensus.

Does this mean I could get rid of my Darnforth anchor, which is bulky and a pain in the backside to keep handy for use, and which I would probably not recover if I ever did use it?
No.
Not unless you are never going on a river again.
A mud weight will hold you reasonably well once deployed, but an anchor
canshould be able to stop you going over that weir... -
Harecastle is not hard at all, in my view, because all you have to do is stay away from the walls, knowing nobody will be coming the other way.
Did some chap not have some difficulty doing just that last year?
As I understand it he went in OK but did not come out again.
-
Mike, please get up to speed. Rasins in curry is now "Retro".
Heathens.
Its sultanas and dessicated coconut every time.
Pale yellow stew with just a hint of spiciness.
Should this be in the history forum or the recipes thread?

You should have asked....my coffee is to die for.....
We gave a friend a cup of Jim's "Dime Bar" recipe and he thought we were poisoning him!

Well, It seems i was wrong!
50 years of believing what i was taught, and i was wrong!
I think i have been wrong before, but really can't remember when!
Nipper
Well if 50 years of being wrong is not enough to jog your memory, you really should consider getting help!

I'm shocked to see blackrose's photo - are widebeams really that size inside?
That's not a widebeam, it's a 20ft cabin cruiser.
Blackrose is only 1 ft 6 tall
-
No it does not have a USB - it does have an RJ45 output / connector.
To clarify, there is an optional USB adapter available for the new Tracer BN series, but it is not included.
I'm with Alan on this one, unless you want remote solar monitoring via the internet or want to graph output over time, just fit the standalone monitor and forget about it.

If anyone wants a Nauticus 27 in about the condition being described in this thread, PM me
Photos of Vanessa cooker or brown and white carpet headlining available on request.

Nor me, but there are a few folk on CWDF who permanently feel the need to burn out the clutch on the Outrage Bus.
I think the Americans call it the short bus

Congratulations Mike.
We always enjoy seeing Kennet out and about, and really think it's a great way to get people interested in the L&L.
-
the 365 now has a pisston flush thing.
Which is why you should sit on a boat loo.

I thought we had established it was the presence of a teapot that indicated swingers.......
......... no hang on a minute - we established it wasn't!
Paging Catrin ... Cleanup in aisle three!
Licence for a kayack
in New to Boating?
Posted
Tenders have to be under 3m, and should only be used in sight of the big boat.
Best for canoes and kayaks is join the BCU through your national group, eg Canoe England.
That gives you a licence and 3rd party insurance for loads more waterways for any canoe you sit in for less money than a CRT licence for one kayak.
