    BSC

Hi and Happy New Year to everyone. It has come around to have my BSC carried out. Can the lovely guys and girls here recommend anyone in the Stenson area for me. Many thanks
  3. Ok thanks for all your help. Like you say, its probably down to individual set ups... My radiators at the back are plenty warm enough once going. I think ill not let my stove simmer too much when I want hotter water. How many hours roughly does it take to get a tank of hot water from a wood or coal stove for youi guys??
  4. Yes u can hear it whine. In fact only I can hear it and highlight that to everyone. Heres the link to the one installed http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/central-heating-pumps/7066934/ I turn it on with a switch around 5- 10 mins after lighting the fire. How long should it take to get hot water? MTB: do you think that the pump needs to be fast or slow? I have arguments for both.
  5. Hi I have a 12v jabasco pump, centrifugel thing. The pipes feed and return are just warm to touch. On the feed pipe it has a branch t-ing up with the bleed screw on that and I think thats the only high bleed at that end . This is the same at the stove end. Ill try and bleed these again and report back.
  6. Maybe this is a stupid question to answer in a general sense but i am after any tips and advice on how to get water in the calorifier hot and not just luke-comfortably warm from the back boiler ? My system has a pump which at the minute runs slow. It can be adjusted up. All rads are off. I'm burning coal on a penguin stove 22mm that reduces to 15 Calorifier is aprox 40ft away. Rads etc bled and reevoir toped up. How long do you usually find it takes from cold with your system?
  7. I like the idea of high level mounted 12v computer fans. Are the being used along with the eco fan?
  8. My 12V fridge has had a new thermostat fitted around 6 months ago as the compressor was running constantly. (Well apart from when the batteries have run low overnight). With the nights drawing in again I feel as if I should pull my finger out again as solar is not the answer. I think I need a new electronic control unit unless the thermostat probe is in the wrong position. Can you guys recommend a company that supplies these or does anyone have a fridge that they are breaking? Any further advice is welcome.
  9. Thank you very much. Took down the details.
  10. Where is recomended for fuel on the trent and mersey? Im doing the whole stretch at the start of next month. Beging at shardlow. Thanks in Advance
  11. This is covered apparently every time some one bleeds their BMC fuel. This screw can be skipped in the bleeding procedure regardless of what the manual says. In fact there is a guy on youtube that runs you through how to bleed BMC engines if I remember correctly
  12. Just got around to reading your replies. We'll done for assuming fudge is fridge mike:) Yes ice cubes can be made in the small freezer compartment, but it's rare for food in the fridge compartment to freeze. I'll get it unscrewed from the floor and pulled out tomorrow and have a play.... Actually I'm going to do that tonight when I get in from work. Tmi sorry
  13. Yes it gets cold but it seems to just never settles. I don't know if any one could look at something like that or if it'll end up costing hundreds
  14. My lec 12v fudge compressor runs 24 7 unless the solar hasn't had enough energy through for the batteries to charge. After having a new thermostat. It still runs all the time. Maybe the thermostat is in the wrong position. I just can't work it out
  15. Has anyone had any experienced with midwifes being biased to being pregnant whilst living in a narrow boat??
  16. Ok just had a look. "Battery negative (system ground)" What does that mean in idiots terms? I took it as leisure system.
  17. Do you have the wiring diagram still. I'm remembering it being quite simple, but it seems I might have misinterpreted it. I interrupted the negative leisure line at the battery end put a short piece in into the shunt then negative from leisure the other end. I remember the diagram having a dashed line(optional) from the starter. I may be wrong and just convinced my self I was seeming something different.
  18. I have a bmv 700 and my domestic negative and starter negative are connected together and it works fine. I'm not sure but I don't think that link would affect the readings as the other end of the shunt would be the neg from the leisure.
  19. My dog did it's business outside our boat once whist myself and wife were enjoying the sunshine. As I step into my boat to get a dog bag the fisherman opposite with his 2 daughters must had thought I was doing a runner or the "iphone trick" so shouts at the top of his voice "Your dogs done a massive s**t on the path. Are you going to get it up?" So I felt obliged to tell him I was getting a bag. It could had quite easily been one of those moments where your eyes are not on the dog for the whole walk/ lounge about and you end up missing the clean up procedure. I'm sure every dog owner has missed their calling at some point.
  20. How are you getting on with the folding tiller Pete?
  21. Julynian do you know if the neoprene requires any other adhesive to work? I assume its cut shape, degrese surfaces, place on and apply prssure. Not forgetting to screw dowm at the end.

    BMC breathe

Turns out one of the side cover that is below the manifold is being fed to the side of the air filter. Now the one on top of the rocker cover that was the one in question, what shall i do with it? Hold it high and stop crap getting in with top hat, gause etc or extend it and send it to the bilge to collect in a bottle? (or leave it blocked off?) Im probably making more fuss about this than needed. Thanks for the feedback nevertheless.
