I know this is a long shot. Does any one have a spare sheet of glass 50 cm x 72 ish? I'm in the East Midlands. Willing to travel.

    Floods?

Just thinking.. Does anyone take time off work to keep an eye on their boat during floods?
  7. There are two boats moored in kegworth opposite the holiday homes. With the water levels raising so fast today these boats are likely to end up sitting on the towpaths when the levels fall or worse. Does anyone know the owner to inform them? One is grey and called miners retreat and I couldn't see the others name as the path was restricted by water.. I'm available to help in anyway but I was alone earlier and wouldn't risk it alone
  8. Please can some one explain how these work, where to get one and how I can install one please? I've used the the search bar and I think I've overloaded myself with info... At the minute the marinas electric is playing up and I have to change plugs I've every time. Thank you people. I currently have to plug a short lead from the inverter to the shore power every time I switch over.
  9. Are these device any good? How many devices can you connect? Do you think a 100gb package will be turning up soon?
  10. Surely it's quite deep where it was moored at redhill. It would had been easier for whoever to had followed the river around to the backwaters
  11. This is awful! What would someone get from doing this?
  12. Very good point... Keep an eye on it
  13. Hi and thanks for all the input. I found it. Very well hidden behind a very shallow false pillar. Topped the tank up. Bled the system. Hey presto. That's it! I was sure it had to be a sealed system... Thanks guys for the fast replies.
  14. Thanks loafer. This is what I'm thinking. It needs to be some where and I'd assume it must be the highest point too. I was wondering if these ever had the option to have no header and too.
  15. Yes. Ive bead it with pump off. It seemed to not have enough pressure to release all the air out. I stopped before water spluttered out. 30 -40 seconds
  16. So I went around to help a friend out today as the top of one of their radiators was cool. When their Webasto is running. I started to bleed the radiator and air was coming out. I asked where the header tank was and the owner wasn't sure. Then after a thorough look I couldn't identify where it was. The boats a wide beam (irrelevant). The Webasto water hoses go from the unit itself in, then out of the calorifier then through the bulkhead to inside the boat, presumablyto all radiators. I'm wondering is it possible to set this up as a sealed system and how to top it up if this is the case. The whole of the inside perimeter shows no sign of a header tank or expansion vessel. Do I need to look harder. I told the owner not to bother to turn the Webasto on tonight and that I would return tomorrow. This is so that I could look into it further and prevent any damage. Any advice or information will be appreciated. Thanks
  17. The wind was quite bad here in leicester last night. Did any one loose anything off their roofs? Unbelievably my ss coolie hat managed to go for a swim. Needless to say that's the last one I'm buying
  18. Where can you get these magnetic strips? I used Velcro, but this makes taking the Perspex off quite meticulous
  19. It's been a while since this was commented on but ,,, We recently had a little girl in February this year and live aboard a 50ft narrow boat, we've managed well, we use a parents address as a c/o so were registered at local docs etc, worked well up to now. Buy as much as you can as a travel version, that way it can be folded away until needed
  20. Ok. Tried what you just said bottle. 0.9 bar tap open, pump off... After the pump comes back on the pump cuts off at 1.5 bar.. Do this sound better and do I need to do anything else?
  21. Ive pumped the accumulator upto 1 bar with the pump switched off and with the taps closed. All seems to be well now, but I assume the test will be when i put a wash on again. My pump is a jabsco 2.9 with pressure of 1.7bar and accumulator has a 4 bar max(now 1bar). It's always difficult when there's no problem.
  22. Just got the pressure gauge on. O psi/ bar. Shall I pump it up to 2.5 bar?
  23. Thanks the PRV is 3 bar.. I don't seem to have any issue when running the boat without washing machine on.
  24. Anyone here tried it and compare to is it to the air ram
  25. This just doesn't add up. There aren't many conditions. So when I have the washing machine running, the hot water tank pressure relive valve begins to offload the water. Sometimes this sorts itself out. Sometimes I have to turn the system water electrics off. The reason i do this is because the relive valve stays open and wastes all the hot water and continues through the cold water replacing it. The water pump keeps running, topping the water up that's leaving. I would a appreciate any ideas why this could be happening. The relief valve has been replaced a month or so ago for a like for like. Thanks in advance
