  1. I read the OP's posts as it being slightly different in France in that the requirement for a collar is only in towns and not in open country. (Though when we are in France I have always worked on the assumption the law is the same as here).

  3. The main reason it's best to ensure a dog is chipped is because it's now a legal requirement for them to be so. Additionally having a dog chipped doesn't negate the need for them to wear a collar and tag when out in public. If your dog wears a tag it's likely they will be recovered more quickly anyway if you have the correct info. on it as jo public wont have access to a chip scanner. As well as the legally required info. we always had mobile no. and boat name on the tag. We now have the car make, model and reg. number should he break away on a caravan site whilst we are away.

  7. Who was suggesting otherwise? I think people take the collars off when at home and not in public. We certainly do, there is no legal requirement when at home afaik.
  8. I swapped Simon's to a round leather type from a flat webbed type. It barely marks his fur at all and certainly doesn't damage his coat in the same way a webbed one does. But for walking we use a harness. The collar is just for his ID tag.

  17. And of course outdated management practices along with union militancy played no part in any of this what so ever...... Your analysis is rather over simplistic I'm afraid.

  24. On Android I use an app called MY SMS which does the SMS syncing thing across devices (though not iMessages obvs). If my PC hasn't been used for a while the messages on the browser version of MY SMS get out of sync. and I have to manually sync. them so yes I think it's a similar issue.
  25. Not at all, we are great friends with some of them, and acquaintances of others like most roads there are a couple of @holes though. ?
