  1. all sorts of rumours abound, the latest is steadman intends converting the workshop into flats - with or without planning permission (without at the moment) says it's his land and he can do what he likes! As for charnwood council, they are allegedly paying housing allowance to occupant(s) of said caravan(s) !
  2. Don't you worry about any mud sticking to us/me, as I said we could not care less, and as for that **** steadman, I can only wish him all the luck he deserves........
  3. I have it on good authority it wasn't Paul either, other suspects are cafe staff who were "let go", when Gianni got the job of running the place. (although from what those who know them better than me say, that seems unlikely too) The council went to see Paul AFTER having been notified all was not as it should be, because they thought he was still in charge.
  4. Update on the saga that is Pillings Lock Marina - it appears that the local council have been informed of the dodgy goings on down there, including caravans being used for residential occupation, houseboat being built on the fishing lake, mobile homes sited, all apparently without the necessary planning permission. Now here's the good news, rumour has it that I am being held responsible for the council being notified! (probably because they chucked off my eldest grandson who was living there in a caravan, and sacked the youngest, who was working in the office there). Whilst I am delighted to accept the blame and will wear it as a badge of honour, truth is it is nothing to do with me or my wife, frankly my dears, I just couldn't give a damn!
  5. further more accurate info/rumours have come to light, and it would appear that Gianni was NOT involved in any way with his leaving Pillings, nor was anyone else other than himself. I have requested post 66 to be removed, as I would not wish to cause offence to anyone as a result of content of post 66, apologies to all concerned.
  6. what dangerous dave says is largely correct, as yet no further details, but watch this space.........!
  7. LOCK HIM IN A ROOM WITH RESPONSIBLE ADULTS AND WAIT FOR THE ENSUING CARNAGE! I FOR ONE WOULD LOVE TO BE A FLY ON THE WALL........
  8. nothing left in writing as I left 6 years ago, but do you seriously think that when we discussed terms with prospective moorers, we said " by the way you will have to pay the 9% levy on top to BW yourself" as far as I can tell from the grapevine, all is well and under control..........
  9. no but I have, or words to that effect
  10. the MOWS are now going full steam ahead with plans to restore the navigation from Syston to Melton and need all the support they can get. Membership is only seven quid a year, the target is perfectly feasible, and another 14 miles of navigable waterway is a distinct probability, maybe even in my lifetime!
  11. as a member of Syston town council I have been asked to get involved on the council's behalf to liase with the society, as I have some history with waterways. I am looking forward very much to finding out what the latest is, and will update where possible on this forum
  12. my understanding of the demise of QMP meant that the leases exist only through the "goodwill" of QMH/PLM, and are not legally binding, hence worthless, so should ABNB be marketing them at all?
