  1. Ram loads of puddle clay into the hole .However this needs a serious seeing to which will not happen because then CRT will say but its not leaking now ,So temporary becomes permanent until the next time.
  2. exactly as mayalld says the risk must be that the bottom will soon be at risk of falling into a sink hole.
  3. and to the right of it is a steep road downwards
  4. Amazing how as before (i believe) leak is travelling from one side under canal and out the other onto the sports ground .
  5. interestingly the feeder at Whaley Bridge is running well far better than last week hopefully it doesn't go to waste over the side weirs.
  6. left unattended and maybe gets broken into will insurance pay out and what is cost versus a few £10 per day inc electric charges.
  7. got brain freeze here i left my boat at a marina boat yard leeds side of skipton
  8. Exactly right and Facebook posters are reporting more and more motorcycles on towpaths .
  9. With the new paths to Sustrans standard bikes are now stealth machines
  10. CRT need to consider the negative aspect of partnering with Sustrans which can drive families away from the towpath and is losing moorings for boaters .Also the rise of Motorbikes on the Towpath which will increase due to removal of the "barriers"
  11. I think we need ofgov first
  12. it must be interesting at the top of locks when lots of boats turn up not knowing about closure as the long term moorings take up all space ok some will go on water point .What a pity there is no winding hole as the farmer would have allowed one to be put in if he could have permission to moor boats against his field .A case of a much needed amenity and some more income but rejected out of hand.
  13. When the CRT workman is good he is very good but when they are managed something seems to go very wrong.
  14. Old technology was wind driven water pumps think Norfolk and the fens .New technology should surely be able to improve on them and not have to rely on electricity.
  15. Spoke to some Volockies at Bugsworth yesterday and they where uninformed about Bosley locks yet boaters leaving Bugsworth have to go that way whilst Marple flight is closed.Surely CRT could have a FB site for Vollockies and use it to keep them informed !
  16. Long pound was very low in May when i came through.
  17. but are you exploring the places or just travelling everyday .I know people who did the system in quick order and then lost interest because the wall map was full of highlighter
  18. Obviously its a negligible amount. Not a lot different to cassettes being washed out
  19. you must have missed the February cut
  20. Hopefully the upper level Peak Forest and Macclesfield will improve after the Bosley locks rectification work that starts next week. The Whaley Bridge transhipment water feed from reservoir is low and slow but still flowing in.
  21. Presently moored at Whaley Bridge just been and checked water flow through Transhipment warehouse .Flowing but slower than usual and definitely lower level above the Doombar. However Marple is closed and the Bosley closures next week should allow levels to increase on the top level
  22. so vollokies on then stay on board easy peasy lemon squeezy
  23. As i say Blinkered yet they could be exactly whats needed however how many managers want to be informed of their failings .
  24. They may not have lengthsmen but the canal is covered by Blinkered enforcement officers i believe every fortnight.
