  1. Time Tank 27 man days 2 drums 14 man days so 2 to 6 weeksish before urgent need of sanitary station in reality i tend to decant on a fortnightly basis
  2. one marina i was in the council asked for Band A council tax (£1000) for 8 boats this was "divided" to £50 a live aboard boat as the share. Residential is only for boats in marina for the full calendar year .Live aboard is supposedly no more than 10 months in marina yet some councils are happy if they go out for only one month
  3. time these NIMBYS got out of boating
  4. It didn't happen to be Rumps lock by any chance ?
  5. more than likely if flat it is the baseplate .I cleaned mine Fertanned it then used up some Bitumen that i had
  6. is that not the Rochdale 9 since it got water which in the 70s it never had enough of
  7. I single handed held stern and centre rope with prop at tick over in reverse I then walked it back, to use winding hole at Aynho.
  8. I agree if this was a new structure but we are looking at repair of an existing structure here so why all the red tape the contractors should do a risk analysis and CRT should have in place the original scheme of embankment build and watertight bed etc. All this work has been done by engineers long dead so stop redesigning and get on with the job it is easier than when originally built with machinery now available
  9. I got it when I was on disability but never claimed BSS as it never came due..Remembering back it was number of bedrooms on form.
  10. Talking to the locals in the Navi Bugsworth Basin they said CRT have done work on the Blackwater feeder but its isolated ?
  11. You are still believing that CRT look out of the windows at the boats ⛴️ my experience is the blinds will most likely be closed.
  12. will people on the K&A be able to get money back because Bosley and Marple are closed meaning they cannot access all the system that their licence entitles them too ?
  13. Todays managers who do not leave their desks could utilise the worker who walks every bit of their area of responsibility in a fortnight i.e the enforcement officer or whatever they are now called .These blinkered people could & would do a far better job if they had to report back to a central point bypassing area managers the remit could cover monitoring lock leakage state of towpath and a myriad other things.Central point would then get a better feel for how the managers are managing.
  14. Bugsworth basin as you enter there is a narrow bit for the stop planks .
  15. Bugsworth is probably being shut to deter people coming up Bosley flight and to get rid of those on top pound .I have been in Whaley bridge 13 days and here in Bugsworth for 4 days up to now level is down but not by much especially when you take into account the breech loss and then refilling that section .There is a flat stone near me that is just under water so i shall monitor that until i move on thursday.
  16. This year i have changed from my 3 dongle to the 3 Homefi Huawei box Brilliant in Cropredy marina but of all the places I have been its not so great in Bugsworth basin for films and TV however it can take an external aerial so may get one for next years cruise.
  17. some pitting can be filled by welding .Where does this fit into the scheme of things ?
  18. Boats that owners know are a money pit due to age and condition so what options are there for them. CRT repossess some and others are simply abandoned . The only place that seems to take them in as a business is Charity dock on the Coventry . Do people buy them from there ? Are there other places of a similar nature around the system ? My reasoning is lots of the early days leisure was GRP and there are now lots of them abandoned around the canals waiting to sink before anything gets done by CRT. As more and more boats come onto the system then more metal ones I assume will go the same way . Some system needs to be putting in place for scrapping boats easily .If it was a car then scrap yards will collect and usually pay money for them.
  19. Marinas are sitting pretty at the moment with all the rich newbys leaving their boats in marinas for the couple of weeks that they use it in a year so not a lot of boater interface required.
  20. In reply to Nicknorman too many marinas have a problem with customer relations .I used to have a shop and every customer was a source of money for me so i treat everyone with respect and reaped the profits.
  21. The refilling has to be done slowly to check fix has worked and also I do not want to sit on bottom at Bugsworth ?. Water is going through Whaley Bridge Transhipment warehouse at a good rate and is at point of trickling over side weir.
  22. the same statement that was made before.
