My link was to a Facebook group. It is a group of local Drone pilots. Anything of interest, if conforming to their rules and regulations in our area, they go and film with their drones. They don't do it for money. There are probably millions of interesting groups on Facebook. I for one am a great fan.

I have heard that they have returned to the breach today to continue the repair. The canal is still down. Goole is still isolated by the defective emergency stop gates and levels are still low. More pumps have been added to try and overcome the leakage and get the level up in Goole. The Docks are still out of action I believe until the emergency gates are open as they can't replace water lost through the tidal locks.

Yes they can shut off the aqueduct.

I would say we are down at least a foot at the moment. We have had issues with boats drifting under jetties in the past and when the levels come back up they're fast.

There is a breach on the Aire & Calder Navigation near the New Bridge in the West Cowick area. Goole is now isolated by the emergency gates to safeguard the Docks. I don't know what the situation is in the Rawcliffe Bridge or Pollington Lock areas.

Normally it's just Farndale. Fusedale has had a go but it's been sporadic. Whichever barge goes it's not a full load unless the dredging gets done up on the River Aire. I moor right by them. As it happens while typing this Farndale has just passed going inbound. At least I think it was, it's a peasouper here.

My word, all this about one lightly loaded barge doing 1 trip a week on the Aire & Calder Canal. It's probably got the same impact on fish as a canoe on the Oxford Canal. Anglers in general don't want boats on their patch. The CRT don't want the commercial traffic back, it's no secret they've tried everything in the book to stop it. So surprise surprise, we've now got a barge not even fully loaded slaughtering fish on it's one trip a week to Leeds.

I have tried my utmost to resist posting on your threads but I feel you have massively over-stepped the mark here. I have just been down to talk to your old neighbours and as I thought they haven't a clue what you are talking about. They don't do forums and such, and didn't have a clue about the CWDF. You are completely out of order calling any of them stalkers or psychopaths. You have made many accusations against your old neighbours without them being able to defend themselves and give their side of the story. They are at this very moment trying to find the CWDF and hopefully challenge some of your statements. You will be calling me a stalker now I suppose, that seems to be your modus operandi.

Ferndale passed my mooring a short while ago so must be now outward bound on the Ouse as we speak.

Louis & Joshua was on number 101 when the owner Mike Lewis died and the firm closed. They had also done re-fits etc on barges such as Sobriety. Over in the Netherlands a star on the bow denotes that the craft is free of any finance, so being a bit of a nerd i put some on.

Well there is a document entitled "Great Heck Mining Subsidence Remediation Works Environmental Impact Assessment", complete with maps etc. Would that be adequate? Apparently Kellingley Colliery was mining below there. I also believe there was at one time a move by the CBOA and British Waterways to get compensation from British Coal regarding subsidence issues but I don't know what the outcome was.

Farndale H is loaded and moored in Goole ready to go inland to Knostrop I presume on Monday.

Maurice Hirst was based in Knottingley, Yorkshire. He had a working yard and slipway. It's still there but under new ownership and combined with Harkers next door. There is a Facebook group, Hirst Boatbuilders.

Just remember that when the Red Mist descends there's probably a smart phone ready and waiting to capture it in all its glory. Perhaps seeing the smart phone deterred the skipper of the cruiser from doing something even worse, who knows. It is also worth bearing in mind that another "innocent" craft might have been approaching that bend and put in a very dangerous situation. Remember there are more paddleboarders, kayakers, and personal watercraft users than ever before on the waterways. Seeing footage like this has made ME less likely to feature in a future "You've Been Framed" episode. Hopefully. ?
