  2. We went totally digital some time ago, and I can honestly say that our TV service has vastly improved, however what was noticeable, was that in the period up to the switch over both systems were "poor" as neither was working at full power. Once the analogue was switched off and digital went to full power the problems disappeared.

  4. Someone asked earlier where there were any similar in the UK, well here you are: http://miniaturerailwayworld.co.uk/indexofminiaturerailways-ByCounty.html They even have their own website!
  5. I'm sure on our website there is a link to other Groups. (sorry at work and can't get onto our site!)
  6. We need to know exactly what Flocal means. And if you look at our website, it does say we "car share".
  7. Perhaps because it would be a way of boaters not needing to actually own a car, but still have the use of one?
  8. What exactly do you mean? We are members of "Llanidloes Car Club" which has about 20 members and 3 cars and a van, which we can use. Costs us £100 to join, which is the insurance excess, plus a mileage charge each time we use a car. Saves us having to own 2 cars.

  13. Once upon a time maybe, but now they are sprayed with a two-pack water based system.
  14. Not a very good idea putting your address on a public forum.
  15. Something for you from last weekend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KKcu38sGaQ8
  16. Since you are based in Bridgnorth, it might be worth having a chat with the local shop of S J Dixons (http://www.sjdixon.co.uk/) or a local Dulux Trade Centre as to how to prepare the wood and what you can use. I suspect that an eggshell finish would be best, as this is replacing gloss in many places now.
  17. Athy, The Welsh Highland Railway from Portmadog to Caernarfon is part of the Festiniog Group now, and they connect at Wharf Station, which is currently being remodelled to provide a proper platform for the WHR. They have run trains from BF all the way to Caernarfon. The Welsh Highland Heritage Railway was the group that first wanted to build the through line, but for various reasons weren't able to. There was a deep division between the two companies, but this seems to have mellowed a lot now, and the WHHR have a connection to the WHR at Gelerts Farm, and that has been used several times now. Unfortunately the two companies use different braking methods so they do not have compatibility, but it looks like a solution is being worked on. Still trying to find the time to do the Port - Caernarfon trip!

  21. The Hunt was by the bridge, and was owned by Kath and her brothers, who farmed from the back of the house. There used to be a folk session there on a Sunday night, sometimes in Kath's dining room, and if you were one of her favourites the evening ended in the winter with a tot of dark rum. Half of Steeleye Span turned up one night, including Maddie Prior! The Arms is the one further down the lane, nearer the river. Didn't think he actually farmed when we went there, which wasn't that often. I think it is still open. I shall check with a friend who used to live in Sharpness.
  22. Julian, I presume you mean the Berkeley Hunt? Many a happy hour spent in there in the early/mid 70's drink Aunty Kath's 6X and singing folk songs on a Sunday night.
  23. Why should anyone answer your questions when you appear to be incapable of answering anything sensibly!
  24. Several of the locks along the Worcester section of the W & B have "No Cycling" signs, but seem to be totally ignored by the lycra mafia. As Mike says, perhaps she'll be more careful next time.
