  1. So are we only getting half the story here? Have some very pertinent facts been left out or conveniently ignored by the OP?
  2. See previous threads about this! Sorry, but this is utter rubbish!!. Correct. Myth. Correct and I wish people would start to realise this. 999 and 112 are EXACTLY the same service. See my comment early.
  3. Oh FFS!! What has his eligibility for Diablement Benifits got to do with him abiding by the rules of CaRT? He has been given plenty of chances to comply, but has stuck 2 fingers up to CaRT. He seems to think CaRT and society owe him a living. Dream on, sunshine!!
  4. Triangulation on the GSM network is not immediately available. The operator will have received your phone number and a Cell Identity when you rang. That cell can be as small as one Hall at the NEC to thousands of hectares in Mid Wales. Traingulation is available but takes a while to set up and is not that accurate in many areas. Some Emergency Services areas are better than others over rural area positioning. Many know get an OS map display on their screen when you ring in so can see the area and need few questions to get an exact "fix" There was a long thread on this subject and the 999/112 system earlier this year. A trapped animal is an emergency, so using 101 was inapproprate. Remember that a 101 call goes through to the Police Force HQ, so in Worcestershire Hindlip Hall, and not an Emergency Services Control Room. They will have far less facilities for finding your position.
  5. As long as you have the correct regulator for the relevant gas cylinder it shouldn't matter. Patio Gas is just another marketing ploy by Calor.
  6. Lyons Boatyard always used to be worth a look-at, especially if Frank was in a good mood. (RIP)
  7. Agreed, because that also includes the "politically" active hirer or share-boater. (ie one who participates in this and/or other forums)
  8. I always thought M8 was a metric bolt size. Perhaps it was part of what Vikki needed. Glad you got it sorted.
  9. In that case get in touch with the Official Receiver urgently to stake your claim on your property.
  10. I get the "living quarters" bit, sort of a demountable living pod, but I question the suitability of a twin outdrive system. Would it be better to convert a diesel driven wideboat to an electric drive one, using the current fitted gearbox/prop? Further. How are you going to deal with your grey waste water? In the "truck mount" you have room underneath to drain it away, but if the "pod" is on the base of a barge.........................?
  11. Springer. Looks tidier and better cared for.
  12. I'm trying to work out why a school boy, with no boat, and with parents with no boat, needs to know the best mooring points. Whilst I'm sure he has the greatest of intentions all his entries do have a "juvenile" feel to them.
  13. Pigs might fly!! There is no way Stratford would give anything away for nothing!!
  14. If you can get enough of the water out of the weed hatch inside the boat the levels will soon equalise...................................
  15. I hope you have read the innumerable threads on here about this and the possible changes that will be coming, especially in areas where lots of people think that "continuous cruising" means moving around a short distances only (like London)!
  16. You have realised that it will need licencing on the Lee or Regents Canal, so will need a BSC and insurance first? And have you arranged a suitable mooring? As you may read here, finding something suitable might not be very easy!!
  17. Isn't there an Ex Black Prince Owners Club? (sorry at work and net is veerryy slow!)
  18. No! County Court just implies that it that County's branch of the Court system above Magistrates Court. Decisions affect countrywide.
  19. Green or black olives?
  20. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=55204 Try reading above thread.
  21. There is a nice pinned thread just above here. Try reading that. http://www.canalworld.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=55204
  22. By the time their daughter is around 15 there will be no way she will wanting to be sharing a bedroom with her younger brother! Are there any permanent residential moorings in Stratford?
