  1. but but but you must always slow down to a snails pace.
  2. Yes, its right next to the canal by bridge 23a.. Guess some people miss though..
  3. Lock 9 is playing up, short pound between low on water all year, now draining very quickly down through 9, top and bottom gates need work...
  4. My Alde also heats water and rads, but Its different to others I believe as I leave the boiler running and it heats nothing, if I flick a switch on the wall it runs hot water around my calorifier heating the hot water, if I want the rads hot I turn up the wall thermostat, I don't need to use any valves to split between the two and both can run together or independently. Take about 15 minutes to heat water enough for a hot shower.
  5. Yes passed a few weeks ago, so is the marina run by Rothens then I wonder, someone mentioned it was owned by Barry Hawkins in the original thread..
  6. Depends on the examiner, I have a good chunk of wires through the bulkhead, a few are not protected apart from being taped to the protection of the protected ones... if you get me. Passed no problem.
  7. You should try Hatton. On the hottest day of 2019. Whilst running out fuel half way down and having to walk to the petrol station and back carrying 20L of fuel.

  9. I would go for Atherstone, top of the locks, quick walk down to lock four and you are at the train station, dog walking better, shops if you need them close by and no polish fishing next your boat all night like the basin, or sitting on the bench drinking...
  10. Was down the five and half this weekend for a couple of nights in the basin, must say most of the canal looked a lot better than last time i was down there, a lot of trimming and clearing up the rubbish has taken place and hats to however did this, the middle bit by hungry horse pub is always a bit grotty and shallow. I moored in the hire base arm on Saturday night as the other arm was full, but moved over Sunday morning when a boat pushed off, no problem from the hire company, there was plenty of space outside the basin also, which sometimes might be better suited due to the lights being on all night in the basin and keeping you awake. Also, there is a brewery a short walk from bridge 12... https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Dhillons+Brewery+Ltd/@52.4491885,-1.4924195,161m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xa2631353ab1adf78!8m2!3d52.4512094!4d-1.4934533

  12. I answered your original question, you seem to have no concept of what is happening in the world, people need to claim housing benefit due to the high rent prices and low incomes, you then simply denied this, making you out of touch whilst also burying your head in the sand. No further question needed to be answered.
  13. Typical response from the old fart brigade on here again. What ever.
  14. You are a little out of touch athy, rent continues to increase a hell of a lot more than the minimum wage. A lot of people have to make up that shortfall with benefits whilst working. this is the life that the government have created over the last 20 years.
  15. Then you would be wrong... How do you think those on a low income pay rent?
  16. The boat is sat moored just by the old navigation pub at Bedworth, seen it yesterday, a good rainfall and its going to be on the bottom as no covers are over the cabin. Hopefully the one that got away will return and take the piece of crap elsewhere, if its left for CRT to sort it then it may be there a while.
  17. You can have a job and continuous cruise, you just need a car and need to ensure you move enough each two weeks, i did it fine. Buy a £15k boat, keep it in the same condition, maybe make some improvements over the year and chances are you will get most of your money back, but be prepared for it to need work.

  21. And the rain will fall from the sky everyday!
  22. Report to CRT, then move and enjoy the day...
