  1. What is actually wrong with your boat? Where abouts are you and do you need any help to get the boat moving?
  2. Basically what Mike says, multiple input heat sources are always a total pain to control. Especially open vented systems with very little head.
  3. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  4. How effective did you find the Tercoo blaster system?
  5. I can always make you an o ring if you're struggling.
  6. A drifting boat is not trespass, it's salvage. It is also removing a hazard to navigation.
  7. Well, that's been a hectic couple of weeks. It has been hard work but a real pleasure to work on such a quality boat. I have kept Junior busy, scooting all over the place to collect parts and materials. A big thank you to Penny of Barby Moorings for her general forbearance whilst we have carried out the project and especially for her skills with the back hoe of her JCB whilst lifting in the tanks. The boat is looking great, Matty40's painting is superb, Kadian Engineering's tanks are excellent and the sign writing, a work of art! There are a few jobs still to do and some snagging as is always the case with this sort of project, but, generally it has gone well. Oh, finally, thanks to Kevin of Midland Canal Services for the loan of his 36" Stilsons!
  8. Neal, if you wish to maintain the watertight integrity, use 15mm tank connectors that have been bored to allow the tube to pass right through. You can then just nip up the fitting to give you a watertight bulkhead without a joint in the tube. Give me a shout if you want me to bore the fittings for you.
  9. Take Rob as team navigator, then you don't need any maps!
  10. The two disciplines are chalk and cheese. Go and try some sailing first before you make any decision, you may hate it, you may suffer from sea sickness. I took an old work colleague sailing this year and he was as sick as a dog as soon as we cleared the harbour.
  11. By the time you faff about with that, you may as well remove the box and do it properly.
  12. Wake up Dog, it was not the Pride of Burgundy
  13. No place for tea and butties for the skipper..........outrageous!!
  14. Buying fuel will be an issue on the canals, petrol is virtually unobtainium. Nice fit Out!
  15. I wondered why Bettie always walks behind him with a carrier bag.
  16. "Pooped" in Staines, I hope you picked up after you! Outrageous behavior!
  17. This plan has disaster written all over it!
  18. Small vessels, especially glass fibre or wood are extremely difficult to see on a busy radar plot. In crowded water like that the skipper would have been well advised to anchor and await better conditions. I bet he now wishes he had done!
  19. It wasn't you Bettie but there was a wide beam up that way with less than sensible mooring locations.
