  1. The survey closes this weekend so it is the last chance to respond. https://wh.snapsurveys.com/s.asp?k=159843204588 My main concern, and the basis of my response, is the proposed clause that allows changes to the published dimensions at any time. I appreciate the amendment is to underpin their initiative of enforcement relating to boats navigating waterways that they are not suitable for e.g. widebeams on narrow canals, but the way it is written could also pave the way for reduced dredging and maintenance. Maybe I am being cynical but as an owner of a deeper drafted boat I am concerned. The latest dimensions were published last month. It now clearly defines which waterways are narrow. https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/media/original/32433-waterway-dimensions.pdf
  2. It was slightly tongue in cheek. Candlebridge are a fabrication and welding business and do a lot of work on narrowboats.
  3. If non-DIY repair/maintenance work is recommended by the surveyor, please make sure you give yourself time to obtain quotes from competent workshops if you intend taking on the rectification work as part of a price negotiation. There is a tendency for people to rush (or be rushed) at this stage to get the deal over the line and then discover the bills are bigger than they initially thought.
  4. Dale is a partner in Candle Bridge Fabrications based in Braunston Marina (Facebook and/or Google has his contact details). As it happens I was talking to him yesterday about his Water World appearance. He's more likely to offer to build you a full size model these days. Good guy producing high quality work.
  5. You have just saved 10%, easily enough to cover a full survey, blacking (while it's out of the water) and a new set of batteries. Spend whatever is left on diesel and enjoy your travels....
  6. The Leicester Line and Northampton Arm are shown as "Planned Broad Canals". Really? Maybe the work will start once the Inclined Plane is fully operational....
  7. They were filming at Stourport in September.
  8. Nope, original as the day she came out of the workshop.
  9. Electrickery .... It would be great to see any old photos like the OP's. She was launch in 1994 so there must have been more than one sighting in that time. Looking at the number of brass plaques that came with her she has covered a fair amount of the network, particularly the BCN.
  10. Christmas is coming, support your Roving Traders ?
  11. The boat is definitely still around as I am onboard it now typing this......
  12. Good to know you got there in the end...phew
  13. Of course it comes down to availability of funds but from what I can see you could be in for nearly £100 for parts for the 3 you mention (and a bit more if you decide to do the diaphragm at the same time) plus whatever you value your time as. Alternatively you can amortise £200 over the next 23 years and then replacement becomes a no brainer. OK 23 years is optimistic but it should do 10 and you get warranty on a new one.
  14. .... but I would have to sign a declaration that I am 2'3" or less, when I'm not.
  15. Just a change to the cable entry design by the looks of it You appear to have plenty of space available so the "tweaked snoot" ( ? ) should not cause you any issues.
  16. 33" - only an issue at the edges. Advantageous when it's windy but not possible to do the Ribble Link due to CRT restrictions (max 2'3")
  17. Jabasco have a habit of changing part numbers so the equivalent is 31620-0292. https://www.pumpvendor.com/media/jabsco/Jabsco_31595_31600_31620_31630_series.pdf https://www.jabscoshop.com/marine/pumps/pressurised-fresh-water-pumps/31620-0292-par-max-4-pressure-controlled-pump.htm Data sheet for original https://www.pumpvendor.com/media/jabsco/Jabsco_30600_30620_30630_series.pdf
  18. That model is still available and has quick release fittings, just pull back the tabs behind the black adaptors to remove/insert. FWIW it's a good idea to remove the old O rings from the adaptors and replace them with those included with the new ones. I didn't and ended up disturbing joints that led to having to plumb two new sections. It sticks in my mind because I needed 4in of pipe and had to buy 3m of each (15 & 22m), one part was incorrect so I had to make two trips to Screwfix and a wet vac required to remove the water it dumped while I was in the car! Xylem are the main agent for Jabasco.
  19. The unit I am dealing is fitted in a boat previously owned by somebody allegedly associated with Webasto sales at Autherley Junction. Hopefully the diagnostics will reveal the issue. I will update this thread when I know more as it may (or may not) assist the OP.
  20. At the recommendation of this forum I have ordered one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WEBASTO-v3-4-USB-INTERFACE-DIAGNOSTIC-Thermo-Test-software/224140130964?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 . It ships from Bulgaria (there may be more local sources?) so still awaiting delivery. There seems to be 3 or 4 threads about failed Webasto's and approved repair workshops offer no warranty for using units designed for vehicles on boats. Perhaps they know more than they are letting on?
  21. I have ordered a diagnostic kit as suggested by Cas446. Hopefully that will give a clear indication of what is going on. @Cas446 the seller has confirmed that they will provide a download link and the CD-ROM.
  22. Of course you're right - now where did I put those needle probes.....?
  23. I think it's worth a punt. At least the next steps are based on facts rather than guesswork. Yes, there is an inline fuel filter fitted. It was new earlier this year and there are no obvious bits in it.
  24. Thanks Cas446 I had seen these. The CD-ROM would be a challenge but not impossible. Have you got first hand experience of the same device?
