  1. Thanks Tony . I could see the D marking on one terminal but couldn't see if there was another marking by the other terminal . thanks again Dave
  2. Yes it looks a lot like the A127 . If it was which terminal would be the w terminal ?
  3. yes it came up as a 55a when I googled it but the one on my engine has a printed label on stating 110770 12v 70a . The pic however definitely looks like the back of mine
  4. Hi , does anybody know if this alternator has a W terminal on it ? Ive tried looking today but I cant get in close enough to it to see if it has or not . The pic below is of the same alternator
  5. I recently renewed our grade 2 leisure mooring and I didn't have to show a council tax bill . Granted this might have been an oversight by the marina .I did have it confirmed to me though that between april and October you could stop on it as long as you wanted on a BWML grade 2 mooring Personally ive never had a problem with BWML or their staff , I do however know people who have had problems with them
  6. Sawley marina have residential moorings as well as leisure moorings . One thing to consider about the residential moorings is that from march to October you can technically stay on your boat in the marina on a "long holiday " so you could stay there on your boat for 6 months. The also have a shower block , washing/drying machines and toilets Have a look at their moorings definitions on their website
  7. Forgot all about MGBhive . Used to use them all the time when I had my midget
  8. Ive now ordered a 74 degree thermostat and gasket from sussex classic car parts . Works out a around £5 cheaper than online marine spare parts suppliers . Thanks LEO (Mike) for informing me that the bmc 1500 thermostats are the same ones that are used in mg midgets and mgb's
  9. Cheers Tony , thanks for your reply Dave
  10. Out of interest what should be the normal running temp of a 1500 ?
  11. Regarding the normal and bypass thermostats , ive looked on calcutt boats website and it says that the one without the bypass is suitable for bmc's with a calorifier . Is the one with a bypass also suitable for bmc's with calorifiers ?
  12. thanks for all your answers so far guys
  13. When we had our safety cert done I was present with the examiner. Whilst he was testing the gas he found a leak and the cooker flexi pipe wanted replacing . He suggested that I fixed them while he got on with the rest of the examination . He had no probs with me doing the gas work and I ended up getting my BSC
  14. Hard to believe that someone would want to save a few quid by leaving the thermostat out !!
