  1. Yes I was curious about that as I had been told they were furloughed. Maybe it's a travelling lock keeper?
  2. Brilliant mate hope its an easy cruise for you with no stress, finger crossed for the op, my mate Mark was a total success hope your is the same
  3. I think hell would freeze over before Boris asked for an extension Ian
  4. It's all guessing at the moment unfortunately, until lockdown in a country is completely removed we won't know what the future holds for us
  5. I cant see that happening Ian, the government will need all the cash it can get when things get back to normal. Would you stop a potential extra revenue? Also it stops people on the bank using red in vehicles
  6. Its not going to happen is the simple answer red diesel wont be available from marinas, I fear that this is just a red herring when in reality we will be using white herrings
  7. Great lesson MP so is what the government doing correct? for me yes it is the NHS has not been swamped yet, Yes people are dying but that will always happen even if we had a full lockdown, when lockdown stopped all it would take is one person to spread the virus again, we [the world] are in a no win situation until a vaccine is created.
  8. Yes well wood it matter given we woodnt be getting old ?
  9. There will be a lot of boats for sale if their is no herd immunity! As we all know us boaters tend to be of the elder variety
  10. That's as maybe, but at the moment normally we are immune so let's cross our fingers that it continues, otherwise a lot of people are going to die
  11. I know that, I am sure that in some ways we are doing better than the other countries that were swamped by the virus. The unfortunate fact is that countries that have had an easy ride are now open season for the virus in a second wave! We might have a controlled continued infection rate, which with luck as we get to know the virus better isn't as lethal? Or better still the vaccine on trial works, I just hope that if it does all countries help out the less fortunate ones with free vaccine
  12. At the moment it's the only plan in town that might work, because their is no vaccine and at some point we need to exit lockdown
  13. Ring up and ask CRT if it's ok would be my advice, if they say no then you know where you stand. Commercial traffic on boats is still being allowed (on the ouse at York) so what do you have to lose? Snap was typing the same thing
