  1. Can you cancel my account / membership please asap.
  2. This is a strange forum full of uptight, angry, and abusive members, with no sense of humour, usually the same suspects that scan the posts waiting to be offended, I don't know another forum like it, which is strange for a forum about a relaxing, and peace full leisure activity. Its just too depressing. I'm not going to bother anymore, you can cancel my account.
  3. I have 500 w of solar coming soon, which will be on an mppt controller, and I need a whole new battery bank anyway, so I'm thinking of Trojans, someone has said I should get 6v ones ? but my main question is what size bank would be suitable for all this solar ? My guess is four x 110 ah . I also want an inexpensive cut off or alarm that stops me draining my batteries below 50% soc, so I can get a long life out of them.
  4. Can the trust refuse to licence your boat if you have been in debt with them before ?
  5. Do you think the trust has any responsibility for the thousands of people that live on its waters, or should a live aboard boater who is having a tough time paying the licence or other issues be prosecuted without mercy by a charitable trust ? Which is what they are doing by what ive heard. I don't condone squatting by the way.
  6. Were thinking about spending the winter up there, going on their hard standing, and doing some maintaince, anyone know what its like there, looking on Google maps its in the middle of nowhere, are there any village shops nearby ? And is there a good relaxed atmosphere in there ?
  7. Could he rent a boat ? I'm just exploring this, as I'm interested in what the canal trust can and can't do.
  8. If he sold that boat and got another one in the future can they refuse to licence that one too on the basis of his past misdemeanors ?
  9. The marina is non residential, so he has a home, but is not allowed to live in it, or move it anywhere else. There's no crane or lorry access. Will he will have to sell up ?
  10. I was talking to a guy who's been refused a licence because he was not constantly cruising, it seems strange to me that his boat is now in a marina on private water ,and never allowed out, I was told the Canal trust said they would seize it if he did. A bit harsh isn't it ?
  11. Questions. Can the Canal trust refuse to licence your boat if you live on it ? No licence would mean you would have to put it in a marina for ever, or sell it ? Can they do this ? Do live aboard boaters have any rights in this respect ?
  12. I have heard that the welding services advertised by Willow bridge marina, at Milton Keynes , consist of one unqualified person, who is uninsured, and is not even employed by the marina, does anyone know the truth, I find this quite shocking. I did email them, but got no reply.
  13. Hello all, I have aquired a morso squirrel stove, but as a kit of parts, I can see how it all goes together but what do I use between the plates to seal it with , rope or silicone or fire cement ? I have the door rope seals.
  14. I want to buy a basic low cost ultrasound thickness tester, can any one tell me what to look for ? Some on Ebay for £80.00, i know they will be low quality but will they do the job for an ameteur ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GM100-Ultrasonic-Wall-Thickness-Gauge-Meter-Tester-Steel-PVC-Digital-Testing-/280752095387?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item415e21009b
  15. One famous cowboy overplater works out of Willowbridge marina, near Fenny Stratford, on the grand union. BEWARE !!
