  2. A few years ago when moving house, we took a new washing machine with us. No screws. Distance was about thirty miles. The w/m was fine. It was still working when we moved again. Rob....

  9. My holding tank is about 400 lts and is under the bed. No, it doesn't smell at all. However, I do get a bit of a pumpout list, (adjusted by moving a bag or two of coal) just before the warning light comes on. Once the light is on, I start looking for a pumpout point or marina. I have gone two weeks with the light on but I don't push it. Rob....

  14. Jabsco fitted a couple of years ago. Lately I've been having a backflow problem (the system that is). Jabsco said to check the "Joker valve" ( re-newed anyway) and that the vent pipe is clear....which it was. Found the cause in the end, to be, the vent pipe fitting that goes into the holding tank. Removed the pipe and wiggled a bent piece of coat hanger through the fitting. Replaced pipe and flushed the loo.....no more backflow. Jabsco have quite a few, very good, short videos of problem solving on their website. Happy flushing. Rob....

  21. When we bought Downeaster (one year old) no one said anything about the propshaft. About 14 months later I noticed the seal was dripping. I looked into this, then realised that it needed greese. I managed to get a lot of greese in and it stopped dripping. Now I do it about every 100/150 hours and it has never dripped since. Rob....
  22. I put the greese into a plastic syringe (20p from Boots) and give it a squirt. It's a good fit, gets plenty in and it's quick and easy. Rob....
  23. I had a vetus but it started to play up. Tried to buy a new pump but you have to buy the bowl as well £800ish. Bought a Jabsco instead for half that and spare parts are sold seperately.....been going well for the last 4 years (that's the loo). . Rob....
  24. I'm the OP and I do have some measuring devices.....so there! Rob....
