Hi guys. I am looking for a boatyard that can accommodate my 65 ft narrowboat. Either to carry out cleaning and blacking. Or that will hire the space for a DIY job. I am moored close to Gainsborough so am looking for a yard from Torksey towards Newark and Nottingham. Or along the Fossdyke towards Lincoln and the Witham. regards. Mike.

its not holding a charge, and will not turn the engine over, I had it on charge overnight two nights ago and its as flat as a fart this morning, water levels are ok.

Hi folks, I need to replace my starter battery as its been in position for a good few years the stickers have long gone, But the company I'm dealing with want to know what ah the battery is, its ti start my 1.5 bmc engine. Any techno bods have any ideas please, its a lucas. many thanks Mike

I have had a boat share in the past, and my own boat for over 5 yrs now,, while painting last summer i slipped off of the gunnel, i cant remember slipping but only the getting wet bit. We are on a river so the water was to chest hight and bloody freezing, after a day or two i was bruised the whole lenth from my hip to my chest, I suppose i was lucky i did not bang my head, so it could have been worse. Like a bike though i got back on and finished the paint job. Mike.

Hello all. I am looking to replace my washing machine I have on the boat, the one im replacing is a zanussi compact.it stands 26 in high and 20 in wide, the only ones I can find on major sites are 0ver 33in tall by about 24in wide.even the compact models are similar sizes, does anyone know of a supplier that does smaller models. PS even midland chandlers don't do one smaller than 33 in high. thanks, Mike.

Hi Guys, can anyone recommend a mobile boat mechanic in the Gainsbrough area. I have a serious water leak on my BMC 1.5, it seems to be coming from the front of the engine near the alternator, I presume the water pump is in that area but im not sure, I am moored on the river Idol seven miles east of gainsbrough. all input is appreciated. Hello all. sat reading the posts with interest, not much to contribute about navigation etc but i can say there are about a dozen boats moored at Haxey Queys. Mike.

It was a 56 ft boat that was stretched into 65ft, the rear doors are the same width as the front ones, After the new yrs break i will contact the company that fitted it out and ask them how the hell they got it in. Mike.

Thank for all the replies, i think the washer was put in prior to being fitted out, i took the doors off, still no good. windows not big enough. i think i may have to leave it in situe and bastardise the new one for parts to replace in old one. The last time i cane through the Sluice the EA charged me £129, that was nearly three yrs ago, Not sure anout the dredging though, Mike.
