  1. it was remove from the Coventry Canal near Nuneaton to the Discovery Park and left to rotten away by the Country Council .
  2. Leicestershire Country Council closed down Discovery Park in Coalville and the Wooden Butty Belmont is there in very poor condition. Land been sold with planning for houses and site needs to be clear for the New Year! What going to Happen to Belmont ?

On Saturday 13th May 2017 at Snarestone Wharf , Quarry Lane 12.30pm Tom Henshaw family will be arriving by pair of working boats (Narrowboat Trust ) from the Globe Pub moorings to Snarestone Wharf , where Tom ashes will be lay to rest under the oak tree. Tom help to save the Ashby canal over 50th years ago and help to start Narrowboat Trust as well. All is welcome at Snarestone Wharf with BQ and drinks

  7. All buy I phone one of the old ones , install find my phone . buy pay as you go sim, hide it in the boat with supply to the phone charger . if you don't live on your boat the just go onto I tunes and check the location of your boat . very cheap tracker for your boat
  8. All , there are no crane lifts on the Ashby , only slipways. Has any one check the new section at the top which is after the swing bridge, this new section goes upto bridge 62 and is ACA waters .

May this person like to attend Alvecote this year and try to turn your boat outside the Pub? I have to bring my chalk and in the middle of the night write " jaws" on your boat

  13. CRt try to close down Tuttle hill moorings , as down to four boats , we now have the whaf at the bridge end . its the cheapest crt mooring in the area

  17. We are looking for a picture of Gilwiskaw Aqueduct on the Ashby canal. ACA group are looking for a old picture of the aqueduct ; we are fund raising to ire install across the brook, the major part to return the canal to Measham. Is any one got a picture please
  18. Adam g I would ask Denboy who reply , he moves boats for Nottingham boat sales and very good person and prices are very fair . also has know of the rivers as lives on the River Trent and part of the Narrowboat Trust .

  20. Alan , Ling was on the Ashby and deliver the sand to ACA for the canal project , and believe with new owners .

  23. I just heard that Leicestershire Country Council which has closed Snibston Discovery Museum , should be moving Belmont to Moira top part of the Ashby Canal . This was on the Coventry Canal near Nuneaton and moved to Coalville. She in very poor condition and will not float . will try to find out more
