  1. Thanks for all the advice peeps, going to remove the windows over the next month or so, remove rust properly and repaint.
  2. Have multi-tool 'Dremmel' type device, will investigate possibility of bodge job until next Spring/ Summer or at least until I find the type of rivets used in the windows and a weather window long enough to do the job properly.
  3. Got a bit of maintenance to do around a couple of portholes. Have some paint bubbling around the frame of the portholes which I assume means that there's rust lurking underneath. It it recommended to remove the portholes remove old paint, remove rust and repaint? I've got two left feet for hands and I'm a tad worried that I'll make a complete mess of things and make an undesirable situation far, far worse. The portholes have rivets, don't know what size, how to remove, how to re-fit, how to seal portholes so they don't leak etc. Is it ever recommended to 'do a quick fix' by removing bubbling paint, remove worst of rust and repaint whilst portholes are still insitu? ANY advice would be much appreciated.
  4. Found this online, might to useful to folks, saw the original programme on C4, made it in the house and it turned out great. Not tried since moving on the boat though or with UHT milk. http://www.channel4.com/4food/recipes/chefs/hugh-fearnley-whittingstall/homemade-yoghurt
  5. Hi, Can anyone recommend an installer of backboilers for a Morso Squirrel in the Cheshire/ Shropshire area?

  13. I've just purchased a Liverpool Boats NB - 5 years old. Full survey showed an excellent hull with very little pitting and good electrics. Most of the problems were small and due to an amateur fit-out, which the seller paid for in the most part. I looked at lots of boats from numerous manufacturers, talked to many people, some of which disliked Liverpool Boats, many of those had never owned one, or knew anyone that owned one - make your own mind up on that one! LB do have a bad reputation amongst some boaters, time will tell if they're right or not. Boat depreciation may be an issue with LB but I already own a Citroen so I'm well aware of depreciating assets. My advice as a newbie would be to get a full survey and then try to reconcile the heart vs head purchasing decision - good luck.
  14. Trouble with the unlimited offer on mobile phones is the massive abuse that can take place. It's easy to hook up a mid/ high-spec smart phone directly to an HDTV with a mini HDMI, pair a bluetooth keyboard to the smart phone and you've got yourself a pretty good desktop PC. Couple that with film/ game streaming and you'll be racking up stacks of data on a tariff not designed to cope with the volume. As said on an earlier thread, it's a small minority spoiling a good offer for everyone else. I'd say, GaffGaff are less to blame than those who seem to always abuse and exploit a generous and unique offering, to the detriment of those of us who use it more sparingly.
  15. I got one of these: My link, great price and it's massive! So if anyone sees a NB around Audlem apparently helmsman-less, don't worry, it's just me blending in with my Swiss Army Camo poncho.
