From what I have seen on this forum, there are a vast number of people that offer advice and help to other members. Often somewhere it will pop up that a member has helped another totally outside of a request made through any topic on this forum. Maybe I am naïve . Instead of starting a charity may I suggest the a new topic be added to the forum named “Help Needed /Wanted” where if any member of this forum is aware that somebody needs help for whatever the genuine need is, whether it be financial, medical, technical or mere physical or emotional support, that a posting is made and anybody that is close to wherever that person is can either assist or pass the message on to somebody or even a charity in the vicinity that can help. In that way the help will be given where it is needed by a person/organisation most suited and better situated. Just a thought by someone who is maybe speaking out of turn. If so forgive me.

I so agree with you. Not being able to walk the canals, yet, not having a boat, yet, the digital edition is my monthly highlight. Between the Canal Mag that fuels the dream with info and photos of boats and the canals and CWDF that provides all the info, gripes, moans, banter, technical aspects and debates that highlights all the mistakes I will make when I eventually and the problems that I will encounter when I get my first boat, I get my daily fix of the canal world. I can understand if some find it boring or a bit samey or a bit old hat, but currently it is all I have to get my fix.
