  1. Please accept my resignation from this forum. Your comment "utter rubbish" is quite unnaceptable. I will not be logging in again as I have better things to do than chat to a load of floating sardine can enthusiasts. Moderators: Ban me if you like. I Don't give a damn. Bye. Harnser.
  2. Hi. If you want to see some really inconsiderate boating, wanging boats around, hit and run merchants, homicidal maniacs and people who do not give a damn for anybody else go to The Norfolk Broads. Then come back to the canals and treasure what you have. Harnser.

  5. Thanks for the clarification The Lockie. Most interesting. Harnser.
  6. Bramble crumble? Yep, plenty of blackberrys waterside. I was there a couple of weeks ago. Yummy! Harnser.
  7. Hi. Dont need to purge? In that case, supper is sorted. Served on a bed of salad with a chillie and garlic mayonnaise dressing and crusty wholemeal bread. WOW! Harnser.
  8. No, that is not what I am saying. There is a need to buy a licence, if you refuse to buy a licence at a lock that issues temporary licences or pass through any other lock your details will be taken and passed on to the enforcement section of the EA. By all accounts the Thames is a public right of way and nobody can stop you from using it but the vessel owner must pay for a licence for passage and in my opinion rightly so. Harnser.
  9. Hi. I am not sure which waterway you are referring to but on the Thames the lockies will let an unlicenced boat through and issue a notice to the user to licence the boat or bums will be kicked. I have spoken to a lockie on the Thames with regards to this practice and been told that it is not his job to enforce licencing, just take the details. I suppose this is good for the lockies personal safety as some people could cut up a bit nasty and the locks are often in remote areas. Harnser.

  11. Genius? I dunno. Really, on thinking about this, I suppose that the radiator on the bed of the cut can be dispensed with and just an intake hose sunk to the bottom with a filter attached. The raw water can then be pumped through the upper radiator with the same effect. Thanks for the greenie, whoever sent it. Harnser.

  13. This might work when stationery. Two old car radiators. connect them together with hosepipe with a small solar operated pump in one of the pipes. Dump one radiator in the cut so it reaches the bottom and have the other in the cabin with a fan behind it. Harnser.
  14. Laying some white towels on the rooftop and keeping them wet should help. It should work on the same principle of the old fasioned earthenware milk cooler. The water needs heat to evaporate and so takes it from the surrounding materials ie. the rooftop. Harnser.
