  5. Slightly off topic. We are in Dublin for the weekend and came across a shop in St Stephens Green where both the assistants were watching the rugby on a laptop. They paused it came and helped us, then immediately went back to watching it before we had even got out the door. Dedication. .....

  7. I'd go with a smart watch, because you can then at least see who is ringing you and decide whether it is worth answering the call. I have an old gear fit and the phone is left in a holder inside the door. (I have a cruiser stern). Most of the time its junk calls anyway. But there are lots of small waterproof bluetooth speakers around. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Colorful-Portable-Waterproof-Bluetooth-Handsfree-Yellow/dp/B00FFV5B0I is just one example'

  18. 2nd doing part of the Leicester ring and turning back as Matty says. The second half Fradley to Foxton can be hard work due to the double locks. Some nice quiet mooring spots after Hillmorton.

  23. Just had the following. River Soar Starts At: Bridge 46 ( A453 ) Ends At: Lock 57 - Kegworth Shallow Flood Lock Wednesday 23 December 2015 11:00 until further notice Type: Navigation Restriction Reason: Police Incident Original message: Please be aware that their is a sunken narrowboat approximately three quarters of a mile south of bridge 46 (A453 rememberance way) on the River Soar The craft is marked with orange floatation buoys bow and stern. We are currently working with the police and the boats insurers regarding recovery. Please take extra care and caution when passing. Please DO NOT attempt to navigate between the two buoys. Doesn't seem to match the on site report from single again. 3/4 of a mile would bring it nearer the flood lock I'd of thought.
