  2. Our blond retriever hates the jetty at the marina and has a big problem getting off the boat when we come back. She will belly crawl along the jetty rather than walk. Luckily we are not that far down the jetty arm otherwise it would take us all day!!
  3. Looks exactly the same as mine, but I have 4 years worth of muck on it.
  4. IMHO the round one looks best but I question putting the word Member on it. It makes it sound like you have to pay a subscription and why do we need to say we are members when you can't go and buy these stickers from anywhere but the forum.

  6. If you want to see a traditional pottery go to Middleport pottery. Www.princes-regeneration.org/middleport-pottery Excellent tour around a tradditional pottery with no restrictions. Sue spent quiet some time chatting to one of the decorators. Good moorings right outside and a very pleasent cafe. Don't have the photos on the tablet but if I can I will add some later. We will certainly be stopping off there again this year.
  7. Another vote for the salt works. Of more interest and more to do for the kids than at the boat lift.
  8. That's not saying much. IA wasn't that exciting.
  9. Listening to the paranoia that is CESG no doubt.Luckily I avoided that one.
  10. Frank Skinner, who's a uke man, said on QI,"tuning a uke is easy, you just have to remember "My dog has flee's". No I have no idea either.........

  12. Can't recommend anyone on you route but check the boatsafteyscheme.org site which gives you a list by county of bss examiners. We have just been quoted £160 for ours on a 57ft.
  13. Good question. I didn't ask, but had assumed it was back to bare metal. However it seems that the general opinion is that £100/foot is about right then. Any recomendation of who around the bottom of the Trent & Mersey? Spoke to JD NarrowBoats at the weekend, who built the shell and they can fit us in over the winter. But any others in the area I should talk to (or avoid)?
  14. Looking to re-paint the boat over the winter. Got a couple of rough estimates and they are around £100/foot. Does this sound about right?

  16. It was mechanical. I took the pump apart, gave it a few turns with some pliers and it started up again. Seems to be working fine now. Think it had hibinated.....
  17. Now why didn't I think of that.....
  18. Starting to think that myself. I intend to take the plate off the front of the impella? and see if its blocked up or if I can turn it over with a spanner. If not sounds like a new pump is needed.
  19. The original Suzie_Q went off to the boat to clean and prep yesterday (God I love that woman!!) and found that everytime she turns the shower waste pump on it trips the breaker on the electics panel. No noise, pump never starts just a slight pause when she turns it on then trips. There is no float switch just a manual switch in the bathroom. Was no problem last year and just appears to have stopped. I am going over to the boat at lunchtime, so any help in diagnosing would be appriciated.

  21. On my travels I often pass the lone aquaduct for the lichfield canal over the toll road. In recent weeks there appears to be some work going on on the north side. Anyone know what's happening? Nothing on their website.
  22. Have just realised most of my pictures seem to include a pint. Is this some thing I should admit in public..

  24. Our squirrel could swim, but just couldn't get a grip on the stone to get out. And we were worried the boat would crush it against the lock wall.
