  1. No a lot simpler than that and shorter. More like the hooks used to grab straw bales by hand.
  2. Tending to use chains when mooring most of the time but the knees aren't coping well with kneeling to thread the chain through the armco and back. I did notice someone last year with a hook that had a t shaped handle at the top which he hooked the smaller ring and threaded it through without bending. What's it called and where can I get one?

  5. The notice says upstream winding at Stenson. I assume they don't have the winding hole between swarkstone and Weston locks on their map.
  6. Thanks junior. Would be nice to be in the middle on the visitors mooring. One daughter lives just above hunts lock and the other near broken cross so was looking for somewhere central to be able to pick each of them up in turn.

  10. So on our way up to Northwich to see the grand kids and passing through Colwich lock, Sue helped the previous boat through. When I got in the lock she informed me that the other boat owner had said that the boat lift has 3 hr queues most of the time and it's essential to book. Is this right?

  19. After years of banging a keyboard I have the dexterity of an elephant. So your quite right. It would cost me more in fingers and leaking oil and water to do it myself.
  20. Due to a total oversight and bad planning on my part I need the engine servicing next week between 12th and 15th before our long trip. Can any one help? Boat is at mercia marina and no the on site one can't fit me in. 500 hr service. Thanks.
