It's on the base plate so on level with engine. Not sure I am right but sure I read on here a while ago that there's some sort of valve stopping the water back flowing to the engine.... Will check pipes though..

Hi all. After having problems with losing water from the overflow we bought a new relief valve. Job done.. We also bought a new element as the one we had bought for us when we moved onto a mooring was a 3kw. It took forever to get water that wasn't really hot, like with the engine and kept blowing the fuse at the meter. Now this one is getting the water just barely warm and it's been on 24/7. We told the chandlers and they just said Oh! It's turned all the way up and is in a 50ltr upright tank, I think it's 16 inches, the longer one. What's going on!!!

I know there are different ones but mine is horrendous, every fin is covered in 1/2 mm grooves , if only I could immerse it in water rather than ignore it in the hope that it will find a way of self cleaning!!!!!!
