  1. Soooo........ do I have to upload all the pics on my laptop onto the SD card (via the slot on the side of the laptop), then plug the card into this lightning cable? looks like that what I need to do looking at the pics in this EBay item, but I'm just checking. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lightning-to-SD-Card-Camera-Reader-Photo-8-Pin-Adapter-for-iPad-Mini-Air-iPhone-/162381920074?hash=item25ceb7774a:g:KKMAAOSw2xRYZLo5
  2. Great stuff! thanks for taking the trouble
  3. Like this? eBay item number: 262821440604
  4. Thanks. What housing does the SD card plug into to connect up to the iPad??? ........I know nothing!!!!
  5. Thanks but it doesn't seem to work with Windows VISTA . Seems like Vista is obsolete.
  6. Just turned my old Windows Vista laptop on for the first time in a year (since I got my iPad). can I upload all the Canon Zoombrowser photos on the laptop onto the iCloud? i haven't got a clue
  7. Thanks everyone. I'll have a go tonight and let you know how I get on
  8. Canon MG5550 Yes I set it up a couple of years ago but I can't find the manual to repeat the process
  9. Well I don't know the difference. The blue symbol on the printer is like an antenna with brackets either side. Is that blue tooth?
  10. Thanks. My iPad can "see" the printer when using the dongle but not when on the landline broadband?
  11. But how? There's nothing about printers in my iPad "settings" section. I've downloaded the driver but it won't upload into Firefox("only HTTP or HTTPS links can be shared") whatever that means! I'm a dinosaur btw They haven't.
  12. I have to keep using my old dongle wifi when I want my printer to print via Bluetooth. It won't work when I use my new landline broadband. Anyone know why??
  13. Thanks.......so easy......when you know how. I spent ages trying to find out how to do it in the "settings" section.
  14. Hi someone please tell me how to make the screen swivel so the image is always upright. Thanks
  15. Thanks. I did sit outside a free wifi spot several times last month but the photos didn't seem to upload automatically. Is there someway of monitoring the uploading so that you can see the number of remaining photos decreasing on an iPad?
  16. Here we go again! 4.64Gb used up in the first 2 days, out of a 12Gb monthly mobile allowance!! I took out another 150Gb with iCloud, as I had used up my 50Gb and had 2500 pics still not uploaded. But now there's still only 400 pics and 43 vids on iCloud (4.4Gb........is that a coincidence, being nearly the same as what's been used this month already?) I thought iCloud was supposed to automatically upload all my photos!?!?!?!? I still have 149Gb available! I've turned off as many "automatic" things as I can, to see if I can stop the usage. Should I go offline when I'm not using Skype? Could that be the culprit? This problem has only affected me in the last 2 months, since I joined iCloud.
  17. No it's not GSM and it is via wifi. Wish I'd realized that before. But I've used up my iCloud allowance now and there's still loads of photos not uploaded. So it shouldn't happen again next month.........should it? Btw why ain't there a cable to let me put my photos onto a memory stick direct from my iPad, like I could do with a laptop?
  18. Well the whole of my 12Gb monthly allowance has been used up in 10 days! I can't believe it's not possible to find out where it's been used. Surely there's a way to see where it's disappearing to on my iPad. This never used to happen until I subscribed to the iCloud to store my photos, but that could just be a coincidence.
  19. I'm going to have to kick iCloud into touch. In 7 days My iPad has gone through 9Gb of data !!!!!!!!!! out of a monthly mobile allowance of 12Gb, without me doing anything apart from a few Skype calls and a negligible amount of surfing. This has only started happening since I subscribed to iCloud to store my photos. I can't see what is using up this amount of Gb (is there any way to find out?), so I'm assuming it must be iCloud. Any suggestions as to how I could identify the culprit?
  20. Something must be down loading onto my iPad without my knowledge ( 4Gb has been used in 2 days!!) Any idea how I can find out what it is?? I'm a tech dinosaur btw?
  21. What's the correct tension for a multi-v belt? I've always if I can twist it just past 90 degrees it's about right.
  22. I had the same experience with a Mitsubishi fuel pump. Over £250! Got one from Poland via eBay for about £30. It works, so I ordered another, so that when it eventually packs in, I'll replace it with the spare, then I'll order another. Even if they pack in every year I'm still quids in for the next 8 years! But really..........why do you need a tacho on a boat anyway?
  23. Old fan belts cut into 1" pieces are excellent spacers. I think rubber is better than plastic, less chance of vibration. Also, waxoyl tends to dry out over time and becomes crusty, any water then gets trapped under the waxoyl and retains the dampness in the bilge. Undesirable.
