  1. A little off topic but not only trolleys go missing, just returned from taking mum to shops and someone had stole the only wheelchair that a Tesco 24hr hyper-store had that was in working condition. So back in car and went to Asda. If there was a canal near my mums they would steal the water. What is wrong with people....
  2. Thanks Alan. A much better understanding now. Number 3. Vulnerable people caught up in non conformance from years gone back. but I suppose there will also be ... Number 4. Non-Vulnerable people caught up in non conformance and no intention to conform. I have total sympathy for all those caught up in the above and by all means lets protect them, it is the only fair way to treat them. As for all the Number 4's well .... everyone to there own. I will come to a canal near you when I can conform.
  3. She's cute too, as per avatar.
  4. No chance of being locked, I have went back into my corner and will not return. Pinky said so.
  5. Chris I explained I didn't want to get involved, I asked a really really simple question not loaded at all and all I get is, it is too long to answer. Abused for being ill-informed or actually not informed at all. And written off as another a*sehole. Well this little 'Bitch' will give as good as she gets, Pinky... All 'Babe' Sam. x
  6. I must admit Chris I didn't have you amongst the likes of cotswoldman, alan, jenlyn and the like but thanks for putting me in my place. Your pet name is Pinky by the way.....(all forum members have a pet name so you don't all feel left out)... I will let all others dream up the meaning of it... as I will dream up the meaning of the 3rd example.
  7. I have a lot of respect for yourself and a lot of the other active members who donate huge amounts of time and work you are doing for the community of boaters. Unfortunately I cannot be described as being part of, (as I only ever hire) but hope to be one day. I only ask for a single line not several a 3rd example would be all I ask.
  8. Promised myself never ever to get involved in the rights and wrongs of 'personal' choice of canal use by any boater. But I will ask. Anyways now I have started. A). Liveaboard - 1. Someone who has a residential mooring. .........................2. Someone who continually cruises the system. .........................3. Problem! Looks to me (and only my opinion) 1 and 2 are people who respect the system, play by the rules and encourage others to do the same. 3. Well can someone add what is the other option that does not allow the removal of a boat under section 8. Really just want to see what I am obviously missing.
  9. This little charmer is for sail!!!! on flee bay!!!! Linky, since the species is rather rare up here in Northumberland, just couldn't not go sea!!! it. Good eyes and you might just manage to find it. Linky. It is in the immediate area. Sea!!! if U can spot the ball... sorry boat!!!! 1980 something he said! Any guesses on type etc... Looks really rough on base plate, with several patches on lower sides. A good grit blasting could possibly get rid of most of the rough stuff leaving very little to look at.
  10. Sorry if you took my post the wrong way. It wasn't the intention. Maybe my sense of humour needs recalibrated. But the slightly sunk comment made me laugh.
  11. Have you looked under the water?
  12. Could be a reference to Disc World and Ankh-Morpork
  13. I didn't want to mention x
