  1. two questions if I may.could anyone tell me how to stop my twin stainless tanks from condensating .and could anyone work out how much they hold the sizes are 6 foot long 18 inch high 14 inch front to back atb gary
  2. cant decide whether to let her stop to eat at braunstone or just give her a nosebag and whip her on to crick.
  3. ideally we could do with arriving 1st april.as there will be a diy bay ready for us to go straight into.
  4. hi all.we could do with some advise on wether there is anyone who could tow our full length butty to debdale wharf so we can start work on our boat. we do live aboard at Stockton but it has come time to get back to the Leicester section as we need to be nearer my workshop [mkt Harborough] as the travelling to and fro is getting to much.so is there anyone that tows for a living as we are willing to pay all costs;ie diesel. wages. whatever it costs to arrive safely at debdale for the start of april.chase car available. please help or its a harness and yoke for the wife to bow haul
  5. can anyone tell me what type of material would be most suitable for our new cratch cover as we would like to use the room as more seating for those nice mornings. has anyone recently had any made. can you offer any names of anyone good in Warwickshire atb gary
  6. hi all. could anyone advise me on whether I need to insulate around my stainless steel tank. it will be positioned out in the front hold space [under canvas].just wondered if it would help with condensation. any help appreciated. atb gary
  7. thanks for replies.the doors to get into service the engine are where the front bulkhead plate was. it is a really good install'lots of room around the sides and front.i will post some photo's asap. we are thinking of solid pipe through the boat with flexible Goodrich either end. the diesel and water tanks have to go in the front as well [either side of front door.again there will be some trimming to do I suppose. once again thanks for all the advice. it looks like I shall be looking at servos and sutchlike atb gary
  8. sorry for any confusion over the layout of our butty puppis.if you can imagine the bmc engine mounted in the bow locker [if you lift the locker hatch the rocker cover is there 12 inches below you]. the engine will have a hydraulic pump attached. then piped down the boat to the ellum which will have a hydraulic drive pod bolted into it.the ellum is being built to copy the original only in steel. so back to my problem of starting'throtle control' stopping the engine. I just cannot see the wood for the trees.hope this has given some idea about the layout. when we bought her we did not know that there was a engine mounted up front [neither did anyone else] all the installation is very sorted [ie engine bearers with full length welded in driptray. we quite like the engine where it is but I need all the options I can get atb gary
  9. hi all.a couple of questions if I may. could anybody have any ideas on how to operate our throttle on our 1.8 bmc which is mounted in the bow locker space.i am not too keen on running at a set rpm . just wondered what are my options are secondly not sure about engine stop . again any ideas gratefully received atb gary
