We have ash t&g above the gunnel hight and on the roof thoughout the whole boat, including the shower room.
- With then lino on the partition wall, and on the external work from below gunnel height.
- This has been varnished with internatial yacht varnish, and it looking ok after 15 years.
That said, we dont live aboard, and hence the shower only gets light use. And im not sure how well it would fiar if used daily.
- Certainly if i was planning to build a shower to use daily, i would have thoughly varnished the ash before it was put up, and made sure there was a decent damproof membrain behind it that drained down outside of the lino and into the bath. Where as actaully it wasnt varnished before it was put up, and the dampproof membraine (which is present thought the boat for condenstaion reasons) runs on behind the lino, which any water ending up wetting the whole lining out and bildge.
We also have a (5ft) bath under our shower...
