  1. Never had a problem mooring in upton. If there is no space just breast up alongside another NB. Mooring at Worcester, there is also the floating pontoons that are free of charge unlike racecourse (only a few of quid). The floating pontoon is located just south to the entrance for the worcester to Birmingham canal. If you have the time, mooring there makes for a lovely walk along the river front into the city centre just in time for an evening meal
  2. We had are fire going in the evening at the beginning of the week. I'd like to say it was just for our 17 month old boy but it really was a tad chilly. If you've got it, burn it !

  4. We cc and love it. I work and my wife is a stay at home mum to our 5 month old baby boy. we also have a dog that has adjusted very well to living aboard. We downsized from a 3bed house (downsized=throw everything away) and do not miss it. This will be are 3rd winter, we have already bought coal as we had spare money then. The solar panels are doing there job well but also have a bk up genny and charger. Make sure you have as many ways to charge battery's if not on shore line. We live in a boat and it's amazing ! James
  5. I'm after recommendations for an engineer on the glos sharpness canal Many thanks James
  6. Our 18 week old baby has told us the fire needs to be on well when I say he told us, I mean the wife glared at me..... Enough said !
  7. The G&S canal is a pain for pulling out mooring pins. Earlier this year a young couple left their boat for a few days at Hempstead, it broke free from its mooring and sunk up near the bridge.
  8. Im sitting here with all my solar goodies just waiting to get it all installed But first I need to find a bridge to moor under to repaint the roof!
  9. Well I hope the bad weather we are now going to get will pass by bank holiday :/ Side note: The First tall ships should be coming through saul on Monday
  10. I've looked on the website and I'm trying figure out how they can charge for 14day and 48hr moorings. Have I Missed something, I don't mind donating but I'm just a little confused. Edit to add: Are they the waterways mafia. If u don't pay they'll come along and cut your lines
  11. I've not been to saul festival before so this is a serious but potentially silly question Is it busy? And 1 more question Who's making the trip there this year ?
  12. Thank you everyone. My writing is poor and I know that and I tend not to post on here because I have to think about how I'm writing and that takes a very long time and usually the covnvsation had moved on By no means is this me moaning about the people on here that can freely and speedily type as I really do enjoy reading the posts. Please don't stop as your combined wealth of knowledge and humor is great fully eprciated. On to more important matters. I love the south west acsent, how can u ever be angry with someone from down there. Also the decent cider and "the wurzels" "Get orf my land" I shall also find out the brand of padlock as requested. That will have to wait till day light hours though I'll leave this post in the hands of are residant interpreters I timed my self writing this post and it's taken just over 25 mins! Writing sucks
  13. The crazy thing is I proof read my post before uploading and thought "yep, looks great!" I now it's an open forum and light hearted banter is expected but it felt like the "know it all's" / bullies were in full force. I think constructive critasisum would have been nice first and then take the piss
  14. I shall leave it as it is for a couple of reasons 1: I can't right good English so don't know what to chage to 2: the people who took the micky seem to understand the general gist of the topic I do appreciate ur input MtB thank you
  15. Please can a MOD remove this topic as I seem to be illiterate. Thank you to everyone for going out of your way to show me how thick I am.
  16. It's crazy to think that English is my first language
  17. So are genny bleeding valve had parishes, I had to take the unit back to the shop but whilst undoing the heavy dutie padlock I noticed some markings (on the padlock). It appears to be hacksaw and angle grinder marks!!! Blood opertunest bastards!!!!! Hows everybody else getting on with these twits
  18. We have a beautiful little 8 1/2 week old boy called George on board and the midwifes were nothing but happy with our living arangment. C&rt let us hang around in 1 location for a long time near the end of the pregnancy. So all in all we had a brilliant experience

  21. Wife is defo wired in correctly, i dare not say otherwise as she might kill me atm As I said, bang for buck it a good charger but to add to that I'm glad I over specified on the genny as any smaller it would have to run on full chat for hrs
  22. Sorry for the lack of replys. My wife has started contractions Regarding the electroquest 100amp charger, I ran it from our 3000watt psw genny and on charger startup I have to start on NON Eco mode as it will cut out and then I'm able to switch bk to Eco. It seemed to take nearly 4 hrs to charge from 12.2v It looks to me that bang for buck its a good charger and with the ability to half the output amp I will be able to give the battery a slower charge when hocked up to a land line at a VM No need to apologise
  23. Well I've unpackaged the red monster and it's by no means a stylish unit but it should never run hot with its 3 fans (no louder then my old Merlin 20amp charger) and it's large casing. It's all wired in to my 530 ish ah battery bank which was down to 12.2v when I turned the unit on. So time shall tell
  24. Have had a troll through and they all talk about smaller spec chargers. I rang the company this morning had a chat and have purchased said item. It can only go 1 of 2 ways so I shall wait for the delivery tomorrow
