  1. I knew I recognised it but couldn't think where on the BCN, but must be near Stewart aqueduct.
  2. After our Eberspacher packed up a few weeks ago we've had a Webasto installed and the installer told us they don't need regular servicing.
  3. Where is this roller...?
  4. We used our Eberspacher just for hot water and ran it for around 2hrs a day if not running the engine as the engine also provided hot water. The pipework from the Eberspacher had a t piece which ran to the calorifier and towel rail one way and the radiators the other, the feed to the radiators could be isolated to just keep the calorifier circuit in use. The Eberspacher packed up recently but had been used like this for over 20 years.
  5. I've seen a photo of the gabions twisted partially across the towpath. Here's the photo
  6. I painted the diamonds on the board in the photo below by painting the board black, then taped up the diamonds using 3mm artist tape and painted in all the diamonds. I then removed the tape to leave a clean black line between the diamonds which was the effect I was after. Then a couple of coats of clear varnish to protect it.
  7. @dave moore may be able to provide advice.
  8. My parents purchased Hedge Rose which was an ex Alvechurch hire boat. That must have been early 1980's, not sure how long it had been a hire boat. It was a steel narrowboat with wooden cabin. We moored there when the small hire fleet was run out of a shed and a caravan before the A frame building was built.
  9. There is 50 boats listed on canal plan built by Teddesley Boats.
  10. Anglo Welsh boat at Great Haywood junction.
  11. Keep an eye on the weather in the weeks before you are going in case the Severn and\or Avon could go in to flood and prevent you doing the ring. When I was 16 I took a group of Japanese students around the Avon ring from Alvechurch in a one week hire, as they didn't speak much English it was hard work.
  12. Finally got round to registering Scorpio and Leo for this year's event.
  13. We have custom made blinds from cabin care (https://www.cabincare.co.uk/boat-blinds-and-curtains.php)
  14. We had a group of apprentices machine a batch of pound coins, they then used them in the fruit machine in the company canteen and we're almost sacked for fraud.
  15. More like £6k when I discussed with Ed, I would have to replace alternator and battery charger and included upgrading inverter.
  16. 10m would be a fairly small mat.
  17. I believe you sat next to me for the meal after the challenge, I had at least one pint.
  18. We've had a few close scrapes with the working boats on that bridge.
  19. And I've had a few pints with him.
  20. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  21. There is the area by the bottom lock where you can moor, not sure if there is any historical significance of that area.
  22. We pay by boat length but in payment brackets so we are in the up to 60' band for a 57' boat and didn't pay anything extra when on a 70' jetty and wouldn't pay any less if on a 50' jetty.
  23. Dumpy from Dumpy's Rusty Nuts.
  24. Autumn 2016 Boundary Post included the photo and was titled Lock keepers cottage 151 on the original line of the Delph.
