  1. I think it is a bit pricey, I was asked if I fancied shared ownership in it.
  2. Very sad news. It was always a pleasure to see Trevor boating on Corona.
  3. Yes, ours go to the crew who are helping out on the day manning the boat. An incentive to volunteer.
  4. Find somebody who is taking their historic boat as they get a couple of car park passes and may not need to use them.
  5. Alan asked the same question in this thread 23\24 June was the confirmed answer.
  6. I've not been to the wharf for a few years and had recollection of seeing a slipway there but couldn't remember for certain.
  7. Not certain but Devizes marina may have a slipway.
  8. Not done any of this myself but taking to a colleague at work last week and he had issues mixing different products when he had to upgrade the firmware on his lightbulbs as the bulbs needed the same brand bridge for firmware updating even though the bulbs could be controlled from other manufacturers bridge so he ended up having to buy another bridge to update the bulbs to resolve a control issue.
  9. I believe the moorings are owned by the couple that own the Stables Cafe at Saul Junction. I'm pretty sure there is a waiting list for those moorings. They also own the Ship Inn at Framilode.
  10. There is a plug for the map and android app in this week's CRT Boaters Update.

  14. What do you intend to cook on it and is it for on the boat where storage is a consideration...? I use a Weber 57cm kettle at home with the optional rotisserie unit plus I have various other cooking options that are interchangeable in the grate. I am considering getting a second one as sometimes just the one BBQ is a bit limiting. On the boat I have a small Weber smokey joe which is good for cooking just for two.
  15. I have a Canon SX700 which is a compact point and click with a good zoom. My problem is remembering to take it out with me.
  16. Given the hold space are you not able to store an extendable aluminium ladder in the hold that can be pushed in to the canal bed allowing someone to climb up? We've used the hold ladder, that leans against the cross plank, to get someone out in an emergency. It is a bit short though when the canal bed is thick mud, just about long enough to climb out on to the canal bank.
  17. A rough sketch of our layout, cassette is taken out through a hole cut in the bulkhead, this was the only space in the bathroom we could fit the toilet unit replacing the porta-potti the previous owners used.

  19. We have the back of ours against a bulkhead with the seat twisted through 90°.
  20. The cassette extracts through the back of the unit but by twisting the bowl the back can actually be the side.
  21. Because town planners will not allow sufficient parking in new developments. In our town new builds are at a maximum ratio of 1.2 parking spaces per house regardless of house size. As there isn't suitable public transport most houses have a minimum of two cars, many have more as children are having to continue living with parents as they can't afford to move out therefore a house with a single drive may have three or four vehicles. Unless charging points are installed all along the pavements it would be impossible to charge all the cars around here in an evening.
  22. I use Tesco own baby wipes to clean the stove glass on our stove and they work ok.
  23. What the thread needs is...
  24. How much revenue is generated through the selling of tickets for the event plus all those people travelling in and out of London, I expect many stay for at least one night and buy food and drink as well.
