  1. The post is neither tongue in cheek or cynical, it is simply a view formed by reading the thread. I feel absolutely frustrated by your plight and would help if I could, but my boat is is many days away plus obstructed by closures preventing any assistance, but I do wonder why, with all the boats moored nearby and those at Lower Park, that you still have not been towed there.
  2. Looks like Lady G has played a blinder here. Lower Park Marina/Boatyard is less than for miles away with conveniently placed winding holes above Barrowford locks and slightly beyond Lower Park. Not beyond the will of any fellow boat owner, male or female, to make the very short trip to tow Lady G to the boatyard, via the tunnel, and get the boat fixed. However, until that is arranged and with agreement from CRT to remain above Barrowford locks, I suspect there’ll be no winter mooring charges or indeed the requirement to move every 14 days. Essentially, all services available, no need to move and free moorings - why not?
  3. Just checked my licence number which is different to yours. Mine shows 606492. Therefore, it must mean something to CRT.
  4. The smoke looks like residue oil or grease burning off. It would have really useful to have seen the other side of the engine especially the changeover compression valves. The rockers etc are lubricated by splash technology, and grease. Sounds very good after that rebuild.
  5. Tardebigge Top Lock cottage sold today (16th). https://bidx1.com/en/en-gb/auction/property/67713?fbclid=IwAR0zZd7QXEOS1r8KoguSAnyPW4ap5gTABMEfXIoc6huLI_gSR9OCS8j8A7o
  6. I made my own puller and used this to pull my liners out. Key ingredients were a chunk of machined steel to snugly fit the base of the liner (within its cutouts) and a long scaffold bar to get a decent purchase. All items were of significant size /strength to cope with pulling liners that had been it situ for at least 50-60 years. The circular items are flanges. Here’s my puller in action.
  7. In my back cabin and engine room I used Dulux trade undercoat coloured to 15868 or 66YY80322, which is a pale yellow, with Polyvine medium oak scumble and varnished with Screwfix’s finest No Nonsense yacht varnish. Here’s an example of the results.
  8. We locked up and down Gargrave in late August and I was concerned that some of bulging stones would soon need attention. They may have been like this for many years but given this was my most recent usage of this lock since the late nineties they caught my attention.
  9. I recall this boat moored at Cowley in the early to mid 90s and owned by someone, IIRC, called Neil. It was and still is a rather smart boat.
  10. Another vote for the Midland Chandlers version of the Epping/Classic. The top plate is very thin and prone to cracking if you let it get too hot.

Looks like the chair didn’t get the dress code memo…
  12. CRT need to get a grip here. There are too many MLATs - moored like a tw*t - across the system abusing the rules.
  13. The keel cooling tank outlet looks to be a small bore. The rest is incomplete because it’s still in build.
  14. Stick your flexi panels to something like this: https://www.roofingsuperstore.co.uk/product/corotherm-10mm-clear-twinwall-polycarbonate-roof-sheet.html This will provide sufficient air gap, reduce surface temperature and prolong the life of your panels.
  15. Not near enough to neighbours to hear theirs or to easily engage with them to do so, I am somewhat remote. I have no experience of these units but am contemplating the Evo.
  16. From a sound perspective it was useful to learn that it’s quite noisy. It would by useful to see and hear the same unit, or the new Evo, running in a boat.
  17. Have you looked Ebac washing machines? Not sure of their quality and efficiency but they do have separate hot and cold water supplies.
  18. That would be really useful. Thanks.
  19. Hey WillD, If that’s an Epping stove then let me know if you’re selling. I’m looking for an Epping stove, or similar, for my back cabin. Thanks, RAP
  20. Here’s a posh one... https://www.intellitecmv.com/products/power-inlet-stainless-with-cover-16a-250vac-2p-3w?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5NmJ-v2Q7AIVGIXVCh18kALpEAkYEiABEgIML_D_BwE
  21. The MC description for the Morso insulated stainless steel flue with roof collar and chimney is very poor. This kit is expensive and differs to the standard steel flue and roof collar fitted to the majority of boats.
  22. That’s the insulated flue, not the standard metal pipe. The reason why it is so expensive is due to it being stainless and of course insulated. My boat has the same, nice pieces of kit.
  23. It’s probably more likely to be stupidity rather than laziness.
